Once upon a long time ago, three centuries and many generations, there lived a beautiful woman called Pandora.
Nobody knew who she was and where she had come from, but she was beloved by the people.
She was known for being a traveller who went from town to town, from country to country and even from a kingdom to another.
Both males and females couldn't take their eyes off of her. A kind and gentle person. Talented and smart. And charming with a bright personality and a smile that could enchant people. She was the spitting image of a goddess, a pure and divine being.
... or so everyone thought.
But they didn't know about her true evil nature. Her inner thoughts and personality were malicious, and she was a truly wicked woman. Because of her fights occurred, blood was shed and even wars between kingdoms could start. She just had to ask something of someone, and that person would do it for her on the spot.
Nobody stopped her from her mischievous doings, so she continued to do as she pleased. When she went to the kingdom of Agape, she seduced the crown prince there: Fedon d' Asteria.
He was no more than another toy for her to play with and which she could discard at any time. Just like the many others before him. But that time it was slightly different. The crown prince was not like the other princes and the royal family. He didn't even have the demeanor of an aristocrat at all.
What he desired was neither power nor to reign over others like his family members. That boy had a slightly strange dream.
At least that's how it seemed to Pandora. His ambition as the future ruler was to achieve a peaceful kingdom in which all the civilians could live equally happy and with equal rights.
Unrealistic ideals. Stupid hopes. Uncharacteristic of a prince.
But it all just proved what a truly kind person he was. Pandora was interested and curious since he was so different from the people she had met until know, so she decided to stay longer than originally planned. Of course, she seduced the prince like she had intended to- at least she thought she had.
But again, she witnessed something unusual.
Though she could truly feel that Fedon was in love with her, he was not after her body or her looks like she had assumed. He loved her but never did he touch or lay a hand on her. It was always her who made a move on him.
She found his behavior strange because such a thing had never occurred to her. Before she realized it, Pandora grew attached to him and feelings of true love blossomed unknowingly over the time.
She started wanting to stay by his side and spend time with him. He was the only one she could show a true smile or laugh with wholeheartedly. Just watching him when he was reading or working was enough for her. She could feel it.
The way her pitch-black heart was gradually gaining colour.
Fedon told her interesting stories and about things, she herself as traveller didn't even know. Trivial but beautiful things.
Once, when they were leaning next to each other on a bench inside the Royal Garden, he randomly told her something while looking into the distance. It were merely meaningless words, just said in passing, but she always remembered them. The breezy spring day and his gentle and warm voice as he spoke:
"You know, humans are truly foolish beings which have ugly and evil sides to them. Their lives are fleeting, and they die as old, shabby people.
But that's not all there is to them.
No one is truly evil, and everyone knows of the feelings of hatred and love. It's true that most humans are rotten but every single one, I'm sure of it, had a time in which they were showing a genuine smile and kindness. Humans die after their time is up, but that's also the reason why they can cherish their lives so much. That's why they are living their lives to the fullest.
And that's also why humans are such beautiful beings".
She couldn't understand the words he told her at that time. Because she herself...
was not a human.
The hidden truth was that she was a divine being. Someone you could refer to as a deity. She possessed powers that those lowly humans hadn't, so she thought she could rule over them and play around with them as if they were toys. Tools for her entertainment.
But that kind prince which had high hopes and believed in humanity, while smiling with those bright eyes filled with sincerity, also gave her hope.
But that foolish hope was utterly crushed soon enough...
Their time ended after a few happy years of acquaintance.
It was announced that the crown prince would marry a princess from another kingdom called Lethia – her name was Maria Latia.
She was not as beautiful as Pandora, but still considered as one of the most beautiful women in that world. Even though she was no more than a human. Both her hair and eyes possessed a golden colour and she was well known for her adorable behavior and pristine image.
A sweet girl anyone would fall for.
She was the complete opposite of Pandora with her fierce red hair and ruby-red eyes. The aura around her was filled with warmth and light - in contrary to Pandora's cold and dark radiance.
The people around Pandora were just bound to love her, but the princess was loved by the people of their own free will.
Pandora experienced a completely new and unfamiliar feeling for the first time. Jealousy.
Furiously she confronted Fedon, who promised her that he would do all in his might to convince his father, the king, to prevent the marriage. But the prince was put before a choice: Either his love for Pandora or his kingdom.
Prince Fedon's dream which was to change the kingdom once he became a king was put at stake and he couldn't choose right away. So, the king gave him a week to think about it.
Fedon locked himself up in his room and didn't allow anyone to enter for that whole week. Pandora trusted him and stayed put waiting for the decision. She was confident that he would choose her.
He always had. Everyone around her always had.
So, when Fedon left the room and announced his decision to the king, she waited with a smile. Never would she have foreseen the following thing to happen.
And never would she have expected to experience betrayal.
The young prince chose the crown, and the marriage would occur. For the first time in her life, Pandora's eyes filled with tears. For the first time she felt abandoned. And for the last time it would be that she killed.
There was a marriage.
A new king.
.
.
.
And a dead queen.
Maria Latia, new Queen of Agape, died the night of her wedding.
