Oath of Pandora

01 - Agape

"Agape.

Our mysterious country, the only one which possess magical and divine powers. And the only one in which both spirits and mages are residing.

The founder of the magical country we have today is emperor Fedon d'Asteria.

Before he became a king, at the time when he was still a young and naïve crown prince, he made a witch fall for him. Her name was Pandora.

Fedon was a good-hearted person and treated all people with equal kindness. Even the witch, who approached him in a guileful way, posing as a foreign traveller, found a way into his heart.

But at that time, he had no knowledge of her possessing mysterious powers.

The crown prince had to marry the princess of another kingdom, Maria Latia.

A beautiful and kind woman which was well-known and liked by the people. Fedon accepted the marriage proposal, left with no other choice, but Pandora was still furious.

She didn't even feel the need to kill the princess with her powers, but rather with her own two hands.

Only a few hours following the wedding ceremony Pandora stabbed her to death. It was pure torture. When the recently crowned king, arrived at the terrible scene, it was far too late.

He saw Pandoras hands stained with Maria's blood. Though he loved her because of the magical influence he was under, killing the princess of another kingdom and his wife, the Queen, at that was a heavy crime which was to be punished with execution.

But rather than executing Pandora he decided to steal the powers she harbored from her and shared it with the kingdom.

Then he bound her soul to the kingdom's treasure, 'Eleftheria', a ruby scepter. Her soulless body was preserved in a diamond coffin, in the depths of the castle, since it could not be destroyed by any force.

A strong spell mixed with divine and magical chants placed a shield over the coffin, so that no one would be able to open it.

After hiding it away in an unknown part of the castle, it was never seen again.

Fedon took on his duties as the new king soon after, but he was never the same person he used to be, ever again. Both his kindness and smile vanished.

In the end he invented 'Grimoires' and chose thirteen mages to be the guardians of the country which possessed them.

Before he died, he uttered following words: 'If Pandora shall ever be reborn, she will bring ruin to this country. Never let it happen, and never let anyone near her soul or body. That's my last wish and hope for this kingdom's future'.

The descendants of the king were his adopted children since he refused to marry another woman and have children after the deaths of Pandora and Maria.

The adopted children were Artemis and Aristeia, poor orphans which he found on the streets. Originally, they were the children of fallen nobles, which were both murdered.

But it's said they had the same amethyst eyes as his majesty, so he took them in. They then inherited the will and hope of the dying king at his deathbed.

As soon as he deceased, both of the siblings married a prince and a princess from another country. They then brought up kids, so the lineage could continue.

These children were blessed with divine powers, which displayed the golden hair, the same as Maria Latias. Maria had always been considered as her „Holiness" in the church, so it is said that she herself had divine powers.
