Ann opened her eyes. She closed her eyes back again for the glare of the room light. She was at the hospital. It didn't take long for her to figure out, because she had a drip attached to her. She looked at her neatly bandaged arms and winced. She tried to sit back up, and her whole body ached from head to toe. Argh...She held on to her temples, still experiencing a constant ringing in her ears.

"Ann..." A familiar voice called out to her.

"D...Daadi? You...You are here..." She looked at the old matriarch who stood beside her bed. She looked old, and weary. Her eyes, were moistened yet something in them warned her to be aware.

"Shiv...Shiv...is he okay? Daadi? Shiv...Is he..."

Ann felt a heavy weight pressing against her heart. She couldn't breath. She gasped for air, to fill up her burning lungs.

"Ann...I don't think you should worry about him anymore...His family is here for him now...I am here now..."

"Wh...What? Oh thank god he's okay...He's okay....Daadi...I...I have to see him...please tell me where is he?"

She pulled the drip attached to her, and didn't even wince in pain when blood started to ooze out.

"He's not here..."

"What? Where is he? Daadi...WHERE THE HELL IS MY HUSBAND?" She shook the old matriarch.

"Oh cut the act woman..."

Daadi, pushed her hands off. Feeling weaker than usual, Ann's body fell back on the hospital bed.

"Daadi?"

Ann looked in to the eyes, of a furious protective grandmother, who has taken up on herself to protect her grandchild.

She threw an envelope at Ann. Perplexed she emptied the contents of it.

An omega watch...A picture of Daksh & her with his arm around her...Divorce settlement paper indicating the alimony, that went in to buying out her old house...and a university alumni year book picture of the class of 2013, where Ann wasn't part of.

Trembling she tried to explain.

"D...Daadi...P...Please...It's not how it looks like...Shiv...He...He knew..."

"DON'T SAY HIS NAME OUT OF YOUR FILTHY MOUTH YOU DISGUSTING WRETCHED WITCH!"

"Daadi...Pl..Please I beg you....I beg you to let me go to him...Pl..Please let me explain..."

She broke down at the matriarch's feet, and she stepped back, not letting her touch her.

"It was my fault...It was my fault....I should have done the background check myself...Now my poor poor child got conned by a gold digging whore....and now he's going under the knife, one more time...one more time living the nightmare he lived, when he was just a child...BECAUSE OF YOU!"

"Daadi...PLEASE....Shiv...Shiv...I...I need to see him...Please believe me when I say that we have worked things out...I am not that person anymore...Shiv he forgave me...We...We are together now..." She rambled on.

"My Shivaay forgave you too easily then...You...You want me to believe you? Legally you are divorced now aren't you? Did you ask him to lie to me about it too? What evil spell you caste upon my child?"

The slap she landed on Ann, echoed through the hospital.

"MRS. OBEROI...Please...She's pregnant...what are you doing on the floor?"

Nurse Gauri ran in to the room with a tray of medications to find Ann grovelling on the floor, and the old infuriated woman was about to slap her again.
