Chapter Two:

Eggman's lab

There was nothing here in Eggman's lab, not even a dust bunny. There were a few broken test tubes and hanging wires, but that was just about it.

After the chat with Eggman, he said that a creation of his was running loose. It was the usual, but he didn't explain what the failed experiment was.

My eyes adjusted to the pitch black lab, trying to find the light switch. To my luck, there was a switch on the other side of the room.

"Of course, always put the switch on the wall farthest from the door," my sarcasm practically dripping off my voice.

My ear twitched, hearing a faint sound. It sounds as if there was chains clanking together. "Is someone here?" I asks, cautiously.

There was no answer, and the sound was gone. This time my guard was up, and I was ready if someone or something popped up.
I made my way to the switch, cautiously avoiding the broken glass on the floor.

With the lights on, I saw how trashed the lab was now. Papers and destroyed robots littered the ground. Out of the mess, one thing was left untouched and clean; a vanilla folder.

A growing paranoia was building up in my mind, feeling eyes watching me. My thoughts collected, as I stare at the words printed on the folder: Kneo Experiment

"Kneo? What's that?" I found my self asking.

I grasp the folder gently, before opening it to read the paper. Surely, it was in Eggman's handwriting. However, it was strange since Eggman types in his research.

Kneo Experiment one:

After the accident yesterday, the specimen is still healing. Was this creature from another universe? I surely didn't know. Just in case, I'll put the cuffs I made on him. Yes, so if he tries to rebel, most of his power will be sealed. If he's powerful enough, I'll be able to take over Mobius!

My eyes locked onto the date, and saw that this was written last year. It seems Eggman have been working on this for a great while.

"Excuse me, sir?"

Every inch of my body turned to see who the voice belonged to. It was a hunched over Mobian, with rags draped over him. He seems to be old, since his voice sounds a bit raspy.

This old mobian with a cane almost scared the wind out me, yet he seems a bit off somehow. "Who are you?" I ask, suspicion in my eyes.

The old mobian flinched at my words, as if he was hit. With a grip of his cane, he spoke, "I'm just an old prisoner of Eggman. Who are you, young lad?"

Now, it was my turn to answer his question. He didn't seem harmful looking at all, just very frail. I couldn't see much of him under the rags, although, I can tell he was a red hedgehog. "I'm Sonic the hedgehog, but why are you Eggman's prisoner?"

"I really don't know. I wound up here, with these cuffs on me," his wrist peek out from under the shadows of his rags revealing no ordinary cuffs.

They were grey, with blue glowing markings on them. At the end of them, had a little ball that was grey as well. I felt pity for him, seeing that the cuffs are leaving markings on his wrists.

"Eggman went too far this time! No worries, I'll get those cuffs off you!" I said with determination.

The hedgehog under the rags grins, "thank you, kind sir."
