Mackenzie woke up to the beeping sound of a hear monater. What had happened? She thought shooting upright only to be meet with sharp pain every where. She moaned and layed back down. Her mom rushed in clearly happy she was awake. " oh my gosh you're awake." Melissa said crying tears of joy. The relief was clear on her face. "What happened?" Mackenzie asked. "Honey you got ran over by a car." Melissa said slowly trying not to startle her. It didn't work. Mackenzie begun to panic. This couldn't have been a coincidence. The murderer tried to kill her. She was going to be killed. "Mo-mom im next." Mackenzie said going into a fit of tears. Her mom started to stroke her back. " No. We're going to keep you safe." This didn't reassure Mackenzie at all. After all wasn't it one of her friends or teachers? If she knew this person they could easily get in and kill her. " The police have some questions for you about what the killer did and looked like." Mackenzie Scowled. She was tired of answering questions. She got ran over and didn't see who did it. Thats all she knew. Soon enough the police came in asking questions. She repeated the same thing timeless times that she knew nothing. Finally they left leaving her alone. Mackenzie turned to her side and slowly drifted off to sleep.

Mackenzie heard a rustle. Curiously she poked her head out from the blanket and opened an eye. She nearly screamed. There was a figure in front of her with a knife. Mackenzie tried to see their face but it was covered with a mask. They looked about 5'4. She saw a strand of dark hair sticking out from underneath the hood. Mackenzie was suprized that they were actually crying. "Please don't do this! You don't have to kill me!" Suddenly they took their mask off. Nia stood stark at her with remorse on her face.
