"I hate him." I said quietly to myself. As I was caught up in my thoughts, the bell rang. I sighed before heading off to math class.

I set by bag down beside my desk, sitting down an observing the classroom. The teacher was sat down on her desk, gathering papers for a test I assumed. "I'll be with you kiddos in a moment." He said as he hastily scavenged through his papers. I sighed and averted my gaze to the window. I noticed that the clouds were a lot darker than they were earlier, and the rain had gotten a lot heavier. The raindrops falling down the glass were mesmerizing to my eyes. "Alright kids, turn your textbooks to page 30-" The teacher gets interrupted by an extremely loud thunder strike. The class chuckled a bit as the teacher got quite startled. He sighed. "Alright alright it got me. Are we ready to continue now? Good. Turn to page 301." He said. I pulled my book out from the bag and turned to the required page, but once again, an extremely loud thunder sound rumbles the sky again. "It's really pouring down out there, huh." The teacher exclaimed.

After we were a few minutes into the lesson, we all see a giant lightning strike the outpost outside the school. The room turns to a pitch black, and students begin panicking along with some laughing. The teacher assures us that it's just a quick power outage, but after at least 20 minutes of just sitting there, he decided to call off the class and meet up in the main hall with everyone else.

We all navigated through the dark hallways, using only the light from outside to guide our way. Eventually, we managed to get to the main hall where everyone else was occupied. Everyone ran off to their friends, but I was left alone. I figured that I could use this alone time to catch up on a book I was reading. I felt my way around the wall till' I stumbled across what felt like a bench. I patted it a bit before sitting down. I heard a throat clear as I sat down. I immediately got up and looked closer at what just made that noise. It was that damn transfer student! I totally just felt him up and sat on him! My eye twitched from embarrassment once again. He began to chuckle a bit before moving aside. "Hey, there's room here. You can sit." He said nicely. I reluctantly sat down next to him, clutching my book in my hands and just looking down at my lap. It was nearly impossible to see each other because of how dark it was. I reached into my pocket, retrieving my phone and turning on my flashlight. I opened my book and began to read it. I felt that he was staring at me, so I looked up. And of course, he was staring it me. I furrwoed my eyebrows before asking; "Why are you looking at me?" He quickly looked away to try and make it seem like he wasn't even looking in my direction. "Are you going to uh bring up what you did?" He questioned. I was furious. He was trying to humiliate me even further by making me speak about it! "No. It wasn't on purpose." I replied plainly. He chuckled a bit. "I know, silly." I looked back down to my book, attempting to ignore him. But he just continued to talk to me. "I never got your name." He said. I sighed. "Colton." He smiled a bit. "I'm Xavier." Of course, he has some unique ass name. Never heard that name before in my life. Just another thing for him to brag about. "I think you should take it a little more slowly." He said abruptly. I looked over at him confused. "Excuse me?" I said as I closed my book. "When we were playing before, you seemed super tired. It's not good to overwork yourself like that, you could pull something." I scoffed. "Being a little out of breath is nothing. I can handle a volleyball game." He smiled a little. "Stubborn, I see." He said. I looked away again. He always knew the right response to make me seem stupid. I clenched my fists together, and just as I was about to reply, the power goes back up. All the students cheer as the lights begin to turn back on. "Alright kids, back to class!" A teacher yells. The students sigh but begin to head to class. I get up from the bench, not even looking at him.

Multiple hours later

It was now the end of school. I packed up my bags and began to head out of the classroom, until I felt a tap on my shoulder. "Yo, dude!" I turned around, it was Mason. "Hey, wassup Mason?" I asked. "All good here! Yo dude, I'm throwing a sick party tonight since it's a Friday and all, and I'd totally love it if you came. If you came, the chicks would totally show up too!" I smirked. I was glad to be invited to a party. "I'll be there." I said. He gave me a tap on the shoulder and ran off. I then continued to head out.
