Prologue:

A group of students were celebrating their graduation. They seemed to take up all the space in the small bar with their talking, laughing, and heavy drinking. After receiving their bachelor's degrees in psychology, they began discussing their plans.

Since they all came from diverse backgrounds, it was challenging to determine why they each chose this particular job. Some of them were the children of doctors, others came from middle-class households, and some were set to inherit massive amounts of wealth—to those, going to college was more of a pastime and an excuse to party. One of them was the daughter of the local Mafia don. Yes, they were truly different, but this did not deprive them of a colorful student life that they would never forget, even though their studies were now behind them.

Psychology is a profession that involves working closely with people to gain a deep understanding of them. It's about knowing how to interact with and influence them positively. Isabel, for one, had never wanted any part of her father's illicit world, so she had chosen the safe path of a typical student. She pursued her education in a field she was passionate about and even secured an invitation for an internship. She felt like she was exactly where she belonged.

"Well guys, I think we are drunk enough to be honest," stated the guy who was always one step from deduction, Peter. "Who else thinks Isabel got her internship by seducing her boss?"

Everybody started yelling in indignation. Isabel came from a wealthy family, but she never used their privileges to get ahead. Everything she had, she worked for. Her old red Honda and crappy apartment were bought after endless shifts at the café. She worked hard to pay for her education, and to become whom she wanted to be. All because she wanted to be separated from her father's business. Soon she would leave this goddamn city and never look back. Her internship was in Seattle, far away on the other side of the country. And she hoped they might offer her a job. Her life was going to change soon. She felt it from head to toe. Starting life from scratch? Definitely.
