Finally, I have arranged my nikah with Aaliyah. I can't believe she is about to become my wife. After finishing my conversation with Aaliyah, I entered my room and called my mom and dad. My dad is no longer in Dubai; he has returned to Jakarta.

"Salam alaykum, mom."

"Walaykum salam, my dear."

"How are you doing, Mom?"

"I'm doing good, Alhamdulillah."

"Mom, can you put me on speaker so that Dad can hear too?"

"Yes, my son, I have done that."

"I asked for Aaliyah's hand in marriage, and our family supported me with everything. Now they are only waiting for your response."

"Allahumabrik, my love," she said before my dad spoke.

"Who is Aaliyah, and are you getting married?" he said, shocked.

"Aaliyah is Abdi's sister. I am interested in her, and Mom knows about it because I suddenly became interested in her. Dad, I hope you have no problem with me marrying a Somali girl. She is the one I truly see myself with."

"My son, I will never be against your love, but im only shocked because i haven't knew about it and I am happy that you have found the one. I have never seen you talk about a girl like this before, and I am happy for you, my dear son."

"Thanks, Mom and Dad. I am happy to be your son."

"By the way, I want you guys to fly to Mogadishu. After the nikah, we will go back together. I want you, Amal, and Amiira to come to Mogadishu. I took another 10 days as a vacation because they wouldn't let me take 15 days. So, book your tickets this week, Insha Allah."

"Insha Allah, my love, we will."

Then I ended the phone call and sent an email to get Aaliyah's visa done. After a long day of preparation on my laptop, Abdi called me to go out with him and check thobes (traditional garments) at Aaliyah's mall. He wanted to buy a lot of thobes. I didn't know what to wear, so I put on a hoodie, cargo pants, a cap, and let my hair down. Then I went down to the living room where Abdi was waiting for me.

We left the house and arrived at the mall owned by Aaliyah. There were a lot of employees, and Aaliyah's main role was to design and take orders. As we entered the mall and checked the thobes, the employees welcomed us. Some of them knew Abdi, so they informed Aaliyah about our presence. She immediately came up to us.

When she saw me, she felt shy and looked down, smiling at me. She came to us and greeted us. Abdi told her that he wanted to look for thobes, so she showed them to us. While we were exploring the thobes, Abdi suddenly said, "Why don't you look for one too, Yusuf?"

"Oh, it's okay. Another time," I replied.

"No, your nikah is soon. Why don't you wear what she designed?" Abdi said Aaliyah looked at Abdi and said, "If you're talking about a nikah thobe for him, I'm designing a new thobe which is not for sale, but only for him." Aaliyah said, then left immediately. I could sense how shy she was and how she felt.

"You're lucky," Abdi said.

"I know, right," I replied.

After Abdi finished his shopping, we went to a rental house to stay for the next 10 days. Alhamdulillah, we found a perfect house for my family.

Finally, after 4 days, my family arrived at Mogadishu airport. Abdi and I went to the airport to pick them up, and then we went to the rental house. The house was specifically for tourists, so it was perfect for us. After bringing my family to the house and letting them rest, eat, and shower, we discussed the days ahead. Everyone went to their rooms to sleep and be ready for tomorrow, the meeting day.

At 5:00 am in the morning, we all woke up for Fajr prayer and made dua. I started reading Surah Yasin and made dua for the day to go well. I began writing in my journal, as usual, but today was different. In a few days, I would be marrying the girl I have fallen for, even without knowing her well. After journaling, I got up to take a shower and prepare myself.

After thorough preparation, I ended up looking like a simple, classic guy wearing a black t-shirt and black pants. After getting ready, I went to the living room to meet my family. We hadsome breakfast together and discussed our plans for the day. The main event for today was the meeting with Aaliyah's family at their house.

As the appointed time approached, we all got into a car and headed to Aaliyah's house. The nervousness and excitement were palpable in the air. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Aaliyah's family. The atmosphere was filled with joy and anticipation.

We all sat down in the living room, and the formal introduction began. Aaliyah's father, Abdullah, started the conversation by expressing his gratitude for our visit and welcoming us into their home. He then introduced his wife, Khadijah, and Aaliyah's siblings. They were a close-knit family, and their warmth made us feel comfortable.

After spending some time in the living room, engaging in conversations and getting to know each other better, Aaliyah gracefully entered the room, capturing everyone's attention. She gracefully served us tea and desserts, and then went to my dad, greeting him with a warm "salam alaykum."

"Walaykum salam, my daughter," my dad replied, his eyes shining with warmth and affection. Aaliyah then greeted my mom, my siblings, and took a seat beside my mom, who couldn't take her eyes off her.

"Allahumabrik, sweetheart. You look so beautiful," my mom complimented Aaliyah.

"Thank you, Mom," Aaliyah replied, a hint of shyness in her voice. I felt a surge of love witnessing the genuine connection between them.

"Aaliyah, you look absolutely stunning. You deserve someone much better than my brother, but I guess you'll have to settle for him so we can be friends," Amal playfully teased.

Aaliyah chuckled and replied, "Oh, don't worry, sweetie. I think I can manage."

"I'm Amira. It's so nice to meet you, dear," Amira introduced herself with a beaming smile.

"And I'm Amal," Amal added.

"It's a pleasure to meet both of you," Aaliyah responded warmly, her eyes filled with kindness.

"Aaliyah, you are such a beautiful and successful woman. I truly appreciate that you will be part of our family," my dad expressed his gratitude.

"I feel the same way. I'm grateful to be a part of your family," Aaliyah replied sincerely.

After that
Aaliyah and I exchanged glances throughout the meeting, and I couldn't help but smile at her. We were both nervous, but there was an undeniable connection between us. Aaliyah's parents asked us about our backgrounds, education, and future plans. They wanted to ensure that we were compatible and shared similar values.

We talked about our aspirations, dreams, and how we envisioned our married life. Aaliyah and I were on the same page in many aspects, which further strengthened the bond between our families. Aaliyah's parents seemed pleased with our answers and were satisfied with our commitment to building a strong and loving relationship.

After spending the day conversing and enjoying a delicious lunch at Aaliyah's house, we finally decided on the date for the nikah. It was set to take place in three days, and the anticipation filled me with immense joy. I couldn't wait for those three days to pass so I could hold Aaliyah in my arms, to hug her, to hold her hand, to talk to her as much as I wanted, to express my love for her, and to call her my wife.

After conversation and getting to know each other, it was time for the final decision. Aaliyah's father turned towards me and said, "Yusuf, we are honored to have you as a potential son-in-law. We have seen the sincerity and love between you and Aaliyah. We give our blessings for your union."

I felt a wave of relief and happiness wash over me. Aaliyah and I exchanged smiles, and I thanked her parents for their trust and acceptance. It was a beautiful moment of unity and love, bringing two families together.

As the time came to leave Aaliyah's house, we bid our goodbyes, hugging her father and Abdi. Just as we were about to leave, I glanced back and saw Aaliyah smiling at me, waving goodbye. My heart swelled with indescribable emotions. I couldn't believe that in just a few days, I would be marrying Aaliyah, the woman whom my heart had chosen above all others.
