Irie

The kiss in Irie's pov

Images of Kyle's soft lips pressed against mine played in my head again and again, it was like I was being haunted by a spirit. I dared not to do anything stupid but I went as far to having him tower me against a wall, heat rushed in every part of my body, I wanted to collapse.

Somehow an angel was pouring her blessings on me when I wished to run my fingers through his hair, dear God the soft touch of his hair, it was a temptation too irresistible to resist.

His eyes held a magnetic pull, his kiss was equal to drug addiction or worse, it was too addictive to be put into words, I craved more and more of him.
The world around us faded the minute his luscious lips touched mine, exploring with his tongue and not letting go. One hand grabbing my waist and the other cupping face. My body melted at his touch, goosebumps spreading like a wildfire.

I couldn't fight the urge to push him away, his cologne as expensive as him made me pull him closer, handfuls of his hoodie beneath my fists.

We didn't kiss with love or passion. It was aggressive and hard, like we wanted to devour each other, like we had starved for days. My first kiss with him was not like this. They were just pecks or soft kisses on the cheek. But this was different. He tasted like Oreos and chocolate but it was much sweeter and richer than any dessert I'd ever ask for.

We pulled apart to catch our breaths, the single street light with a moth flying around it, glowed like a silent witness to the stolen moment. His eyes, intense and filled with unspoken emotions, met mine in the soft illumination.

"We should probably head back now" He said rubbing the back of his neck.

"We should"

Making it to the car, the drive back to campus unfolded in silence. Not a word was spoken, Kyle's eyes concentrated the road, I looked from the window, trees and other vehicles passing by, night sky clouded, the moon hiding behind them.

He parked the car exactly where we picked it from and made our way to the gate. Déjà vu hit again when we departed into opposite directions to our dorms but before we did, this time we shared a genuine hug. His arms wrapped me in an affectionate embrace, a cocoon of warmth enveloped me.

"Good night Irie. See you"

"Good night Kyle, sweet dreams"

Hailey was fast asleep when I got back to the dorm. That night after a long time, I fell asleep without a worry in the world, only with the memory of our kiss in the quiet small street of Valora.

The next day...

I woke up, the space empty and to Hailey's text that she's going to be with her classmate for the day to finish their film making project. I replied to her text with a Good luck, got dressed to get my usual iced latte from the cafeteria. One of the amazing facilities in Greenland is their wonderful and free meals. It's almost like I'm going to Hogwarts but to get an arts degree. Hailey on the other hand is working on editing and filming, she has an Instagram account with 50k followers just by editing videos of the Galaxy Boys.

Greenland is the perfect Uni to purse a career in the entertainment field. If you wanna be an actor, director, artist, music producer, you name it, Greenland welcomes hundreds of students every year, symphonies of dreams waiting to come true.

As I started walking through the corridors, holding my cup of coffee, I saw Carter holding what I guessed was a Karaoke set at the other end of the hall. The second he recognised me, a bolt of vibrant energy exploded from his face, he almost dropped what he was carrying, waving his arm at me, the both of walking towards each other.
