CHAPTER 18

After having lunch , the Sherawat family decided to return back home. Everyone was very happy with the news of marriage.

Soon enough everyone sat in their cars.
Prithvi smiled at Nikita as she bent down to touch his feet. He slowly caressed her head and said, "Before leaving I just want to see my Princess for the last time."
To which Nikita just smiled and asked a servant to call Nakshatra. Nakshatra arrived and bent down to touch Prithvi's feet. She then turned to Padma and touched her feet too.
Prithvi then caressed her head and said, "See , Nikita I always told Ranvijay that I will make his daughter my daughter in law and I did it. Arjun and the whole Rajasthan is very lucky to have you."
Nakshatra just smiled at him and Padma spoke, "Ab toh bas uss din ka intezaar hai jab hamari rajkumari hamare ghar ki Lakshmi bankar ayengi. Hum jald se jald pandit ji se baat karke sagai ka ek acha sa muhoorat nikalwate hain."

( I am just waiting for the day when my Princess will arrive at my house as Goddess Lakshmi. I shall quickly call pandit ji for taking out an auspicious day for the engagement ceremony)

A blush spread across Nakshatra's cheeks when she heard Padma's words. Everyone smiled at her cute behavior. Nikita felt as if her daughter had returned back to her.

But Nakshatra's eyes were looking for someone. She wanted to see Arjun before he leaves. She was standing aside from others and was constantly looking here and there.

When she turned around , Arjun was just standing behind her. Coming a bit closer to her he said - "Aise hamara intezaar na Kariya kahin hum apki iss adaa se mar hi na jaye."

( Please don't wait for me like this . I would perhaps die because of your antics.)

Nakshatra's smile dropped on the pretext of death. No she could not imagine his death. It would be no less than a nightmare. She has already lost a lot of her loved one's.

She quickly covered his mouth and said, "If you say this one more time I would never talk to you ever again."

Arjun smiled and said softly," OK,ok, I will never say it again."

They both were talking to each other when Padma called Arjun. He smiled at Nakshatra and went away.
The Sherawat family bid a bye to the Shekhawat family and went away.

Time skip,
Two days later,
Sherawat palace,

The family priest was sitting in the hall and was going through Arjun and Nakshatra's Horoscope( kundali). After looking carefully for sometime he finally looked up and spoke - "The girl is really a perfect match for Kunwar Sa. Congratulations Goddess Lakshmi herself is coming to your house."

Listening to this Rupali had a beautiful smile on her face. It felt as if all her worries vanished in the air. Padma looked at the priest and said -
"Then if there is no more problem please tell us an auspicious day for the engagement and marriage".

Rupali looked at her mother in law and said , "Ma Sa don't you think it is a bit early for marriage."

To which Padma smiled and said - "Rupali have you forgotten our family customs? Arjun's Rajyabhishek ceremony is in six weeks and I want this engagement to occur early . Your and Dev's marriage was also done in two or three weeks after your engagement. This is our family custom we have to follow it."

"But Ma sa don't you think we should asked them about this as well. I mean this is the marriage of their daughter."

"Yes Rupali you are right . But in the mean time we shall see the day of engagement."

Both looked at the priest who was done with his calculations.
"Rani sa, the day after tomorrow is the perfect day and for the wedding, after two weeks it would be perfect."

"I think the day for engagement is good and for the wedding we should ask them about it." Rupali said.

Rupali picked up the phone and called Nikita.

Shekhawat palace,

Nikita was sitting in the hall and Nakshatra was sitting on the couch. Nakshatra was doing some work on her laptop. She took a leave from office today.

Suddenly Nikita's phone rang and she picked it up.

"Namaste,Rani Sa, said Rupali."

" Namaste, Rani sa , aur sab theek hain ghar pe.:

( Greetings Rani sa . I everyone ok there)

"Yes everyone is ok here. Actually I wanted to ask you something. Our family priest arrived today and he has taken out an auspicious day for the engagement ceremony."

"Ji , please say further."

"The day after tomorrow is a perfect day. Therefore I wanted to ask you if it is okay to conduct the ceremony on that day."

Nikita smiled a bit looking at Nakshatra who was busy typing something on her laptop.

"Ji , it's totally ok. If you think it is perfect then we have no problem. We will conduct the engagement then only."

"Thank you so much. We shall start the preparations for the ceremony."

"Namaste, rani sa."

"Namaste, rani sa."

On listening to the word engagement , Nakshatra's hands stopped and she looked at her mother.

Nikita chuckled at her daughter and away. Nakshatra looked at blushed a bit and continued with her work.
