I want a horror writer to treat this idea, that Medusa is the source of the zombies..I remember a passage from Anne Rice where an ancient pharaoh that started the vampires, similar direction to where I'm going. Medusa is a Gorgan, a manifestation of feminine rage..the lore around her is already super badass..but does she always have to turn you to stone? An unintentional indirect glance transforms the original "patient zero" into a withering undead, Medusa never intended it and even wanted to harm the human. I have seen zombies come about from sources like pollution, disease, fugal infection but never from the mythic. There exists a zombie audience atall times, people are out there who just want more zombies..this provides a new direction.
