HAILEY FELT THE WOVEN MATERIAL UNDER HER BODY, but her mind was somewhere else. She looked into the abyss but the darkness went on for what seemed like miles. Whispers swirled around her, some she could make out and some in a foreign tongue.

"The red head." One whispered, causing Hailey to swivel around quicker than light. She came face to face with an old man, his tan skin and sunken eyes were a tell tale sign as one of the dead.

only the ancestors showed them selves.

Haileys eyebrows furrowed. "Who's the red head?" She questioned, her skin raising in small bumps as his hand touched her cheek. He felt like ice... so cold it burned.

The old man smiled. "Think, my child. Use that brain of yours that has been gifted by the elders" he stated, pulling his hand away.

Hailey felt her cheek begin to ache, "tell me more, please" she pleaded with widened eyes. She wanted to know more, she needed to.

The elder sighed, "razor sharp teeth and skin like glass, she will kill whoever she may pass" he spoke in riddles.

She felt wetness drop under her nose. Reaching up to wipe it, a red smear appeared on her hand. "No it's too early!" She yelled as the world began to blend into a blur.

"Seek rest, child. Trust what has broken" he mumbled, stepping into the darkness.

Hailey felt her eyes roll to the back of her head, and her body collapsed backwards. The deep smell of woods and salt water brining her back into the world of the living.

"Are you okay?" Sue asked calmly. Her motherly nature taking over as she placed a cold cloth on her forehead.

Hailey shook her head as sue assured her to sit up. "It was weird, sue.. really weird" Hailey muttered, her eyes scanning the room before landing on sam. "You've a shit ton of explaining to do" she stated with wary eyes.

Sam nodded, "so do you."

After much debate,  that Hailey was indeed fine, she convinced Sam to tell her everything. She could tell he was holding something back, but he wouldn't crack.

With a hot cup of tea in her hands and an ice pack rested against her bruising cheek, she stared at him with widened eyes. "Your shits weirder than mine" she stated, bringing the mug to her mouth as she sipped it slowly.

Sam's held tilted, "so what's your baggage?" He asked with a slight chuckle.

He had seen it. The white eyes, convulsing, the node bleeds and the muttering incoherently.
