JESSICA OMEGA ANSWERED THE PHONE WITH A SIGH. "Carlisle, when are you getting back in town?" She asked with urgency, not even giving the man a second to breathe. Metaphorically that is.

Carlisle stuttered, "I'm not sure, Jessica. Edward is still isolating himself and no one can convince him to rejoin us"

Everyone who knew of the Cullen's secret, knew what happened in Bella's birthday. Jasper lost control after the girl nicked herself and Edward deemed her life unsafe if he was around. Either Bella swans luck, her life was unsafe in general.

Jessica sighed, "the red head is back, she's attacking locals and she attacked my niece last night" the woman hissed quietly, her eyes darting around the back room to make sure none of the employees heard the conversation.

"I'm sorry Jessica, is Hailey okay?" The man asked with sympathy, he did feel bad — that was one thing about Carlisle, he held the guilt of a thousand souls.

The woman nodded even though he couldn't see her. "Yeah, the boys got there just in time" Jessica mumbled. "Tell Edward to come to his senses. What happened to Bella isn't anyone's fault, he's only hurting her more by staying away."

"I know but he doesn't, Jasper is still struggling — and I'm sorry Victoria is causing so much struggle and pain. I'll contact my cousins and see if they can help." Carlisle promised, a voice called out in the background. "I'm sorry Jessica but I have to go. You know where I am" he vowed.

He was always kind. She hated that about him.

"No more vampires, Carlisle." and she hung up.

Embry pressed down on the horn of the car four time before Hailey pulled open the front door. He stood his head out of the truck window, "get in! We're going to Emily's!" He yelled, watching as the girl sighed before slipping on a tossed flannel and begrudgingly slid into the truck.

Embry wasted no pulling out of the small driveway. His hand lingered near the radio before he turned down the volume.

"I'm sorry, you know" he uttered, with a solemn stare.

Hailey looked at him, confusion present on her face. "For what?" She asked quietly.

Embry swallowed, "for leaving."

Hailey shook her head, "I get it, bry. You couldn't tell me, pack orders and shit" The girl promised with a bright smile. She scooted over and leant her head on his shoulder, something she used to do frequently before the shift.
