"Boo their taking forever to get here" Denki whined out, laying on Hanta's lap, while Hanta played with his hair, having a strand in between his fingers.
"They'll be here soon" Hanta soothed Denki's woes, using a calm voice as he spoke.
The door clicked open and muffled foot steps could be heard. We were all hiding behind something in Eijirous lounge room.
"Is the big surprise your gonna take my v—"
"SURPRISE!" We all shouted and jumped out from our hiding spots as Mina and Eijirou entered the lounge room, scaring Mina as she jumped back but she composed herself quickly, laughing and acting as her bubbly self.
"Oh my god! I almost just pissed myself" Mina bursted out laughing, bending over hugging her stomach.
"Happy birthday baby!" I ran from behind the couch and gave Mina a big hug, the both of us almost falling into the ground.
"My love!" Mina managed to get out in between laughter fits, hugging me back.
"Let's get this party started why don't we!" Denki shouted, grabbing a bottle of vodka that was by his side.
Denki had poured a couple of shots from the vodka he had brought with him. All of us counting down as we drank the bitter burning liquid.
"That taste so yummy" Kyoka sarcastically said, rubbing the excess liquids away from her lips.
"Ew you like this!" I giggled, watching Kyoka.
"Sarcasm dumbass" Katsuki spat out, grabbing the bottle of vodka and pouring himself another shot.
I tried to laugh it off but the pit in my stomach had already started to grow for that night. No matter what I did, said, looked like, thought about. It just wasn't good enough for him. I wasn't good enough for him.
"Pour me another shot Denki?" I turned my body to face Denki, it was a question but more so, do it for me type of tone. I needed this.
"Woah okay party girl" Denki chuckled, complying with my request and opening the lid to the vodka and pouring me yet another shot, "here you go" he handed me the shot, it was almost spilling out of the shot glass.
I took the shot from his hand and without a second thought I had downed it. The burning substance going down the back of my throat. I grimaced at the taste.
The night continued, every one dancing and laughing. Drinking and eating. Enjoying themselves. Except for one person. Katsuki Bakugou.
I took another shot, which would be my fifth one for that night. My stomach running on pure ethanol and a handful of chips. I hadn't eaten enough to soak up all the alcohol I had consumed. This was also my first time drinking.
"How you feeling?" Kyoka nudged my side, looking at me with a tiny smile but her eyes showed worry.
"I'm feeling perfect" I giggled out. My face was feeling hot and numb. My cheeks were red and I couldn't control my laughing fits.
"Thatta girl" Kyoka laughed and pat my back.
I went to go pour myself another shot and felt a hand, a calloused and rough hand on top of mine.
"You've had enough, stop embarrassing yourself" Katsuki grumbled, grabbing the vodka bottle out of my grasp.
I made a face at what he said, my eyebrows furrowing. Why was he always so abrupt? So just so. Annoying? Arrogant? Disrespectful.
Mean.
"Give it back Katsuki" I grumbled out, not being able to control the eye roll that followed suit in my words.
"The fuck you say?" Katsuki looked back at me, his face contorting at the fact I said something back.
I looked at him and crossed my arms.
"You're not deaf, you heard me" I spoke back at him, looking up at him as I spoke. The feeling of being intimidated by him had faded.
I was standing up for myself.
"What the fuck is your problem?" Katsuki grumbled, his tone raising and the others began to catch onto our little scramble.
"Come on guys let's just settle down" Eijirou interjected into our conversation. Trying to calm us down, trying to keep this party perfect for Mina. It was her day.
I continued to stare down Bakugou, even though he had looked over at Eijirou to give him his attention.
"Want to know what the fuck my problem is?" I spoke, ignoring what Eijirou just said, "You, you are my issue" I grabbed the vodka bottle out of his hand and placed it on the lounge room coffee table.
Bakugou turned back to me, his face showing a grin on it, as he moved his hand to point at my chest. I slapped his hand away from me. Not allowing him to continue to pick on me.
"Don't touch me" I spoke up, the tension in the room being thick. "You think you're so much better than everyone here, so why are you here?" I continued, staring him down the whole time.
Bakugou stared me down for a while and began to open his mouth to speak again.
"Grab your stuff and go, we are not dealing with your attitude ruining yet another gathering we have, especially Mina's birthday" I stared him down, crossing my arms. Watching his every move.
"You were lucky I choose you" Bakugou spat out at me as he moved closer to me, his face inches away from mine. "You're nothing to me"
"The feelings mutual" I gestured my head to his bags, telling him to go.
He let out a low gruff chuckle and grabbed his bags, whilst exiting Eijirou's house he turned back. "Were done" and than he swiftly took his exit, slamming the door as he left.
He always had to have the last word.
I turned back to the group, and began to smile, "now who's ready to get this party back on track!" I cheered out.
The others looked worried for me but didn't hesitate to return to the party, everyone giggling with one another again.
I was outside, digging through my pockets for my packet of marlboro, pulling out a lighter.
I lit the cigarette and exhaled.
I heard the back door slide open and footsteps walking up to next of me.
"Proud of you, you know?" Kyoka spoke, offering a tiny smile to me.
"Thank you" I turned my head to face hers and smiled at her, even though my eyes showed regret and sadness.
Had I done the right thing?
Did I make the right choice?
Haven't I given enough?
