Y/N typed away on their computer trying to remember if they'd packed everything they needed for their moving trip. They had a thing for being organized, even if they didn't necessarily want to go.

Y/N and their mom had been living in Galar for a while now, but Y/N's mom wanted to go visit other places more often. Y/N had mixed opinions. They loved their home region. It's where they had caught their first Pokemon, and they would be moving away from their friends too. But, though they hated to admit it, they were also a bit excited. When Y/N saw their mom searching for other regions to go to nearby, they had assumed that they would be moving to somewhere southern in the continent, like Paldea or Kalos. Kitakami, as it was called, wasn't even on their guess list. It would be interesting to see what kinds of new Pokemon lived there if they had to name one good thing about moving.

"Shinx?" Y/N's first Pokemon, Shinx said from the ground, causing them to look down. "I know, buddy, it's sad we have to move," lamented Y/N, "But it might be fun! I've heard they have some pretty cool folktales over in Kitakami. Plus, they might have some cool new Pokemon!"

Shinx ran around the room a bit, occasionally bumping into Y/N's bedframe, stopping for a moment, and then continuing to run.

"You have a lot of energy today, don't you, buddy?" Y/N asked the Pokemon, chuckling to themselves.

"Shinx, shinx!" it responded. Y/N turned around, "Listen, buddy, I don't have time. We're moving tomorrow and I still have a lot of stuff to get done. I'm running down to Wedgehurst later to make sure I'm stocked up on potions and pokeballs and the like."

"Shinx..." the small Pokémon seemed rather upset. "You know what?" Y/N asked, letting their Wooper out of its pokeball, "You can play with wooper while I go down to the Pokémon Center."

"Shinx!" "Woop wooper!" Both Pokémon seemed happy to be able to play with each other. "Alright, see you!" Y/N exclaimed, walking out the front door.

The bell on the door rung quietly as Y/N entered the Pokémon center. The small cafe-esque area at the left of the building was already closed. No shocker there. Only the main healing counter at the center and the Poké Mart on the right was open.

"Welcome to the Pokemon center!" the nurse behind the healing counter addressed Y/N, "Would you like to heal your Pokemon?"

"No thanks," responded Y/N, "I'm just here to buy some stuff before my family moves tomorrow morning." Y/N checked everything on their list. Potions, check. Pokeballs, check. Antidotes... just about check.

"You're sure up late. It's almost 8 o'clock," commented the nurse. "You're one to talk," Y/N chuckled, "Most day shifts ended a couple hours ago. When does your shift end?"

"I suppose that's true," responded the nurse, "The day shift here lasts from 9 in the morning to 8:30 at night. That's when the night shift people take over." Y/N listened as they left their money, totalling to 6600 pokedollars, on the counter, and put their new items in their bag. The purchase almost emptied out their pockets, but it was worth it to get the important stuff before a big move.

"Thank you for visiting the Pokemon center!" the nurse said goodbye as Y/N left through the front door, "Have a nice day, or, evening!"

"See you," responded Y/N.

"Hey, mom, I'm back," said Y/N as they walked through the door of their small home in Postwick. "It's really late, Y/N," replied Y/N's mom, "You have to go to bed right about now." "I know, Mom," Y/N sighed, "I was just going to get some last minute stuff before we move, you know, potions and stuff."

"Alright, alright," Y/N's mom laughed a bit, "I also was just packing a couple of extra things before our trip to Kitakami. You still have to go to bed, though."

"Alright, Mom," Y/N left the entrance for their room.

"Shinx, shinx!" "Wooper!" Shinx and Wooper were still messing around in Y/N's room, but quickly turned to face Y/N when they walked in.

"You guys still doing this?" asked Y/N as they set their bag down and turned on their bedside lamp. They didn't feel like changing into their pajamas, for they were tired and ready to go to sleep.

"Wooper!" Y/N's pokemon responded. Although it wasn't in english, Y/N found it clear that the answer was a resounding yes.

"Alright, you two. I'm going to sleep," Y/N yawned while returning Shinx and Wooper to their respective pokeballs, Shinx's being a normal one and Wooper's being a net ball. Y/N climbed up the ladder into the top bunk of the bunkbed in their room. No one actually slept in the bottom bunk - the room came with a bunkbed when Y/N's mom bought the house and had seen no reason to remove it.

The lamp turned off with a click, and Y/N went to sleep.
