Emerald woke up to the sound of Topaz yelling at her.

"Mommy! What took you so long?" Topaz screamed right in Emerald's face. "Where's Quartz? Tell me! Tell me!"

"Okay, one thing at a time," Emerald said overwhelmed. "So, first, during the festival, there was a huge storm. I can't tell you where Quartz is. I'm sorry."

"Please, Mommy! Tell me!" Topaz begged. Emerald knew she couldn't get away without telling Topaz the truth. Last time, she had refused to tell Topaz the truth, she ended up smacking her with a very hard crystal. Emerald had bruises for days. She decided to tell Topaz the truth.

"Alright. Quartz is on a quest to save the disappearing dragons," Emerald said reluctantly.

"WHAT!! How cwome Quartz gets to go on an adventure?"

"W-well," Emerald started but then soon got interrupted.

"I want to go!" Topaz yelled.

"I'm not letting you go because you might die and you are so immature. You are way too young. Quartz is much older than you," Emerald said. "You would probably die in the first minute of the quest."

"Aww..." Topaz said, disappointed, "bwut I is smawt and pwetty!"

"Oh, yeah! I just remembered to tell the Queen something," Emerald chirped. "Wanna come?"

"Alwight," Topaz said, still disappointed. The two flew to the palace entrance, which took them only a few minutes, seeing as they lived near it.

"Halt!" The guard said. Emerald could see the cracks on the guard from all the injuries he had gotten from battle.

"I have a message for Queen Amethyst," Emerald said.

"I will escort you through the palace gates," the guard replied. They walked into the palace through the twisting hallways, arriving at the main throne room doors. Emerald soon saw Queen Amethyst; she was majestic and, surprisingly, clear of cracks.

"My son Quartz left to save the missing dragons. I might visit the CloudWing Kingdom often. Is that okay with you?" Emerald asked.

"Yes," Queen Amethyst replied. "As long as the CloudWings are okay with it." Emerald walked out of the palace with Topaz and flew toward their cave.

"Can I go with you to visit the CloudWings?" Topaz asked while they flew.

"Definitely not," Emerald replied.

"Pretty please?" Topaz begged. Emerald saw the puppy eyes on her face.

"Fine," Emerald said, slightly irritated.

"Yay!" Topaz exclaimed. They were nearing their cave. Once they arrived, Emerald thought about everything she had just gone through.

Cumulonimbus was wide awake. He thought about Stratus and Cirrostratus, all the horrible things that could have happened to them. To get those things off his mind, he told the King and Queen about probably having Emerald visiting often. He flew slowly, still grieving for Cirrostratus, although a tiny part of him said that she was alive.

"Why did I let Stratus go?" Cumulonimbus cried. Cumulonimbus found the King and Queen resting while the princess was playing around with little owl dolls.

"What brings you here?" The queen asked.

"As you may know, Stratus and Quartz went to save the missing dragons. I'm here to tell you that Quartz's mom might come visit often for the sake of the missing dragons," Cumulonimbus explained. "Do you give us permission to travel to each other's kingdoms?"
