AUTHORS NOTE*****

Sorry for not adding one of these things in the beginning...it's my first story so I'm still getting the hang of things. I forgot to put the chapter titles in the actual story so I'm starting from this one. I also ask even if the story seems kind of slow and boring at first, bare through it (I swear it's worth it). If you like the story, tell your friends, vote, comment, like. It brings a smile to my face every time I see the number of votes/reads and I so grateful for everyone. I'm really nice too so I will answer every comment (or try to). Thank you!! P.S I apoligize for any grammar mistakes.

Chapter 2: The haunting history of the only love I've ever known

I don't have much experience with guys or how to deal with them. The only time I became remotely close, it almost destoryed me. I'll try to give you a quick over view of what happened.

I've never been beautiful, or at least I didn't think I was. Call it being insecure or lack of confidence but I never thought anyone could ever really like me. So when Ashton Sykes, one of the hottest guys in school, noticed me I didn't stand a chance.

I wasn't use to the attention, so I ignored every warning, the rational side of my brain was shouting at me, because I enjoyed feeling important.

He sat next to me everyday at lunch. We talked about a million different things. There was never a single moment of awkwardness, or silence. I thought he was my soulmate. I was wrong.

Ashton called every once in a while, and we would stay on the phone for hours at a time. Everyone kept saying he likes me, but I didn't listen to them. We were just friends, because if I really believed them, chances were he actually didn't like me and rejection hurts most of all.

Then one day, everything changed over a phone call. We were ranting about our English teacher, Ms. Reynolds, who gave way too much homework.

"She assigned a five page essay on the most boring topic and expects it turned in the next day?! The lady's mental!" I shout over the phone.

"It's ridiculous." Ashton says, sounding a little bored.

I rack my brain for something interesting to say, when he speaks first.

"I have to ask you something."

"Shoot." I answer cooly. Why was he acting so weird?

He took a deep breath. "Will you go out with me?"

WHAT? I mean the guy was gorgeous with his blondish hair and greenish hazel eyes but...I don't have a clue how to be in a relationship!

After a few moments of quite he says my name to make sure I didn't hang up. My first instinct was to run away. There was no way anyone like him, could like someone like me. It defiyed the laws of physics. There had to be a catch.

"Is this a trick?" I said, irritated.

"Huh? What do you mean?" He sounded completely clueless.

"You're not asking me out because of a stupid guy bet, or just to laugh in my face later?"

"No, I would never do that, don't you trust me?"

"Yeah, I guess."

"So will you?"

"Umm...I have to think about it." I mumble into the phone. I am such an idiot. That was probably the only chance I'll ever get and I ruined it.

"Uhh, okay." He sounded dejected.
