Sayaka decided she didn't like Kirari Momobami when she was 10 years old on a swing set. Coincidentally, Sayaka met Kirari Momobami when she was 10 years old on the same swing set. Saya is generally a nice, and well-rounded person. She isn't typically the type of person to not like a person after a day, or a week, maybe even a month of meeting them. but Kirari Momobami is different. Kirari grated on Sayaka's nerves like nobody has before. Every snide remark Kirari uttered, Sayaka despised. Her dangerous nature literally triggered Sayaka's fight or flight. Kirari was predator and Sayaka was prey. Sayaka hated Kirari. Like every time Sayaka found her boyfriend, Ryota, in a trash can any time he shyly held her hand.
Several years had passed since Sayaka decided she hated Kirari, she gained, and lost friendships, and substantially grew and matured as a person, yet, her hatred for Kirari Momobami stayed a flame. Sayaka hates Kirari. She doesn't think about Kirari's icy eyes in the dead of night, or the way her gaze turns dangerous at times when Ryota is around her. Her heart doesn't flutter when Kirari's signature, confident smirk is sent her way. She hates Kirari. Sayaka never thinks about how Kirari's lips would feel upon her own whenever she sees Kirari with another girl, nevertheless replacing herself with every new girl Kirari fucks with every other day. Sayaka hates the jump, the exhilaration she feels when any person to talk shit about Sayaka ends up with a black eye, or a broken nose, and Kirari's knuckles ending up bruised- - not that Sayaka looks at her hands, or anything. Sayaka just assumes that the gushy feeling she feels when she hears Kirari's laugh, or sees her sweet smile, soft and sweet. Sayaka Igarashi does not like Kirari. Plus. She has. . . Ryota.
Despite her own kindled hatred for the girl, her friend group, whom consists of Midari, Mary, Kaede, Yuriko, & Runa, like Kirari well enough. Save for Ryota, who quite possibly hates Kirari more than Sayaka herself. Otherwise, everyone likes her, so she's constantly around. Kirari also holds parties. Your average highschool party. And when she does hold these parties every other weekend, Her friend group attends, so Sayaka is dragged along with them. Not that Sayaka doesn't not enjoy the parties. They can be fun at times. And her enjoyment with the parties have nothing to do with the fact that Kirari sits right next to her, so close that she can feel the warmth of the other girl on the couch, or that Kirari looks at Sayaka up and down in ways that feel hungry. The only bad part of these gatherings is when Kirari goes off and ends up in another girl's pants - which is bad because she's leaving the group. It's selfish, is why it's bad. No other reason. Especailly not because of the burning desire to be with her instead of some other girl, or the ache that she feels in her bones once that relaxing warmth leaves, along with Kirari, and Sayaka is left with boring, cold, Ryota.
These big parties are normally settled at Kirari's house. (Big, rich, someone probably died there? Teenager hotspot.) Tonight is one of those parties. It's a Saturday night, and the sun is well past retired, and Sayaka stands in "God-Knows-Who-She-Could-Be-With-Right-Now-Kirari's kitchen, hip digging into the counter, babysitting on a red solo cup filled with disgusting beer, scrolling on Kirari's Instagram. (not because she's pretty, but- because- there's a reason. She doesn't have to tell you. Just trust her.) Music roars from the living room, muffled from where Sayaka is now, only reason Sayaka is there now is because Sayaka needed a break from all the sweatiness, and how Ryota left her, and never came back.
