Third person pov
It's now morning at Patch, and Casey walked into the kitchen to cook breakfast when he saw his father sitting at the table. "Dad, good morning," Casey told his dad. Tai gave his son a grateful smile, "Good morning, kiddo," Tai said to him. Casey smiled at him as he walked towards the oven to cook breakfast, but Tai stopped him. "Breakfast can wait for a bit; why not sit down and drink coffee, and we can talk for a bit," Tai asked his son. Casey ponders for a moment but ultimately agrees to his father's request. So Casey poured himself a cup of coffee and sat down at the table in front of his father.
As Casey and Tai are drinking coffee together, Casey took a deep breath. "Hey, Dad, there is something I need to tell you," Casey told Tai. Tai looked at his son worriedly. "What is it, kiddo," Tai asked Casey. Casey took another deep breath to try to calm his nerves before telling his father about meeting his uncle. "A couple of weeks ago, I met my uncle Deacon," Casey told Tai. When Tai heard this, he put down his cup and looked down at it, confusing Casey.
Tai took a deep breath as he is about to tell Casey the truth. "I know Casey," Tai told his son. Casey looked at Tai, shocked. "What, you know," Casey asked his father confused. Tai nodded his head, confirming this to Casey. "Your birth father came to me yesterday before you arrived to tell me that your uncle revealed himself to you," Tai told Casey. "You mean Duke, right," Casey asked his father. Tai looked at his son, confused. "How do you know his name," Tai asked Casey. "My aunt Glynda told me about him and Qwendolen," Casey told him. Tai let out a frustrated sigh. "For years, I've tried to get her to be part of your life, and now she decided to be part of it," Tai said, frustrated.
Casey looked at Tai, confused. "Wait, you knew Glynda is my aunt," Casey asked his dad. At this point, Tai didn't know how to answer his only son, despite Casey not being his son. "Yeah, I knew for a while now," Tai told him. "I tried to convince her to be part of your life since you were five, but she told me that she doesn't want to do with you at all, but she didn't give me a reason why," Tai added. "It's because she blamed my birth father for the death of my birth mother," Casey told Tai. Tai was surprised by this. "Look, Casey, Duke is not the reason why Gwen is dead," Tai told Casey. "I already know that he's not the real reason," Casey told him. "But I'm still curious about what Shadow Hunters are," Casey told Tai. Tai let out a hard sigh. "It's a tricky discussion at the moment, but I'll try to explain what Shadow Hunters are the best I can," Tai told Casey.
"To start, Shadow Hunters are like Huntsmens but of a different breed," Tai told Casey. "How are they different," Casey asked his dad. "Well, they have Semblance that is hereditary and are designed to combat forces of shadows," Tai explained. "You mean the Creatures of Grimm," Casey asked for clarification. Tai shook his head at this, "The Creatures of Grimm are one thing, but I'm talking about creatures that are much more terrifying than Grimms," Tai explained to Casey. Casey is confused by this, "What's more terrifying than the Grimms," Casey asked his dad. "Well, Shadow Hunters fight vampires, Werewolves, and other creatures that most humans thought were just fairytales," Tai told Casey. "Wait, vampires, werewolves, and everything are real, and Shadow Hunters are responsible for fighting them," Casey asked Tai. Tai nodded his head in response.
"Why haven't nobody told me this," Casey asked his dad. Tai looked at his son sorrowfully. "I want to tell you for so long, but I don't know how to tell you until now," Tai explained to Casey. "Did Mom knew about this," Casey asked his dad. "Yes she did knew before she died," Tai told Casey. "How about Yang and Ruby," Casey asked. "No, they don't know any of this," Tai told him. "The only ones that know any of this are me, Summer, Qrow, Ozpin, and Glynda," Tai told his son. "So why keep me out of this," Casey asked his dad. "Duke asks us to never tell you until you are ready," Tai explained. "And from the way your abilities have been progressing, it seems safe to say that you're ready to know all this," Tia added.
