Please pardon the long wait! I hope you enjoy!
I shamelessly changed the storyline for the sake of this scenario 😶You whipped your head towards the commotion of the inner mansion. You had been traveling to Ao Bing's place, as per usual, when you noticed the eerie quiet uncharacteristic of the casino-like entrance.
That's when you noticed all the bodyguards laying around, either dead or knocked out. There were spears all over the place. You recognized the design:
Yunxiang.
You held your breath and took out your own [weapon/power of choice]. You never were much of a fighter, but you supposed that's one of the things Ao Bing didn't mind, as he still kept you around. He had been experiencing rough times.
You had remained by his side despite all, supporting him all you could, even if you were silent through most of it. The anger you had when you saw the bruises on him was kept inside, bottled up, lurking for an opening to explode from.
You figured now would be the time. You knew his father was an evil man. You trained hard to keep yourself from confronting him yourself, knowing it was his fault Ao Bing trembled whenever he was around. You didn't want the unsuspecting young man, Yunxiang, to be mixed up in all of this either, believing he was innocent despite starting a fight with the man you deeply cared for.
But you knew why he was here. He wanted to kill Ao Bing, and you were not going to let that happen.
Your footsteps echoed through the cast hallway, and you slid to a stop when you entered an opening with almost floating water coming from different directions—no. It was floating water, and right in the middle, at the front of it, was Ao Bing, facing off Yunxiang.
Ice was thrown left and right, Yunxiang scurrying and dodging away from its impalement. You saw something from the corner of your eye and noticed it was his discarded bike. You almost smiled to yourself. It looked like the fight was in Ao Bing's favor, and there wouldn't be any need to call for backup.
Yet, as you stood, getting close to the railing at watching in anticipation, Ao Bing noticed you, and you locked eyes.
You could see him gasp and pause at the sight of you. Before you could wonder why, Yunxiang struck at the moment of distraction and sent the ice prince barely blocking his attack with his arm—his scarred one.
Your heart caught in your throat.
"Ao Bing!" You shouted in shock.
Time slowed at the fire that blazed in front of your eyes, the last thing on your mind was the scales on his arms.
Enter Flashback:
You were coming back from your usual routine around the city, stopping at the familiar skyscraper.
You nodded humbly at the towering bodyguards as their uptight postures changed once they stepped aside to let you through.
You were never much of a talker, so you praised the fact that they had masks and stood silent themselves.
As you were about to enter his room, one of them stopped you. So much for the silent types.
