it's been days. days of olivia not being her happy, confident self and she hasn't admitted it to anyone. not even her boyfriend. and it was unusual considering they're the best when it comes to communication.
working at the tribune has put an immense strain on her mental health. every day, it's just been article, after article, after article and she just felt like she couldn't stop. coming up with new stories has been a huge challenge for her, along with the fact that it's been exhausting to keep up. she feels bad that she hasn't maintained time for herself, or her man.
but again, she didn't want to admit that. she wanted to fake it and say everything was ok. when in reality, it hasn't.
another tiring day went by for liv as she arrived in her & spencer's apartment. spencer immediately notices her, walking up and kissing her on the lips. "there's my baby girl. how was work?"
god, she hated that question. if she would do anything to avoid answering, she would go the extra mile. but for the sake of her love, she had to put up an act. "work was a great babe. you know, writing, coming up with inspirational stories. i love to let my brain do its magic."
and by letting her brain do its magic, she means letting it slowly deplete herself.
"alright, that's what i like to hear, even though i've heard this for the fourth day in a row." olivia raises her eyebrows, giving an obvious hint.
spencer looks at her beautiful face and notices that something has been off with her. for the past few days, he witnessed that she's been putting up a front on how she felt. he didn't want her to call her out on it since he wasn't the type to press her about things. he was hoping that things would turn out well and that she would feel better. but it turns out, she may need his company.
"hey, baby are you ok?" he asks with worry, caressing her cheek. she holds onto him, giving him a genuine smile. "i'm alright, i promise." she lies.
you don't ever make a promise you can't keep or lie about. and that's when it clicked for spencer. he needed to be there for her.
"i'll be right back, i'm going to take a long-awaited shower." she then walks upstairs to take a nice cleanse. while she's in the shower, she lets out the pent-up feelings she's been holding in for a long time. without realizing it, she felt a pair of arms wrap around her. at that moment, she didn't care. she needed someone to know she wasn't ok. and she was glad that someone was spencer.
and at that moment, he knew she was thankful to let her know that everything would be ok.
