The Awakening Of The Phoenix

Chapter 1: The Journey

Phoenix gave Felix a day to rest and to prepare any materials that he would need for the journey. The next morning, they said goodbye to all the witches and started their journey to the crystal of chaos. As they passed the last house of the village a dark witch came up to them and warned them of the dangers that they would encounter on the way. She told them of guardians with glowing red eyes that used what was known as chaos magic. "Chaos Magic" Felix questioned. The dark witch then explained that chaos magic was a form of magic that needed no incantation to be used and was the most powerful form of magic and that it was said to only be used by the great protector and the guardians of the crystal. She then proceeded to say that it was said that these guardians were created by the great protector to protect the crystal at all costs. They thanked the witch for her warnings and her answers and started their journey to the crystal.

As they started the journey to the crystal Felix decided to try and start a conversation with Phoenix as she had not said anything to him since they left the village.

Felix: So, why did you volunteer to take me on this journey?

Phoenix: I am not certain why I decided to bring you on this journey. There was just a little voice in my head that told me that I needed to bring you or something terrible would happen.

Felix: I see. I hope that the king doesn't make any irrational decisions while I'm gone. I fear what he will do to the witches and what he would do if he found out about this crystal that gives all of you your powers.

Phoenix: None of us fear the king. We all know what we are capable of doing and know what would need to be done if the king were to attack our village.

Felix: I know we have only known each other for a few days but I would like to get to know you a little more.

Phoenix: I prefer that you not get to know me.

Felix: Why?

Phoenix: There are many things that I am not able to tell you and might never will be and that is why you can never get to know the true me.

They continued to talk as they continued their journey, and they eventually came across a village that sat at the bottom of a mountain. In this village, they were able to replenish their food and water supply and get rest. They spent two days and decided to explore a little before they continued their journey. After the two days, they continued their journey and eventually made it to the dark mountain where the crystal of chaos was being guarded.

Meanwhile, back on Felix's planet, it had been four days since the king had sent Felix to warn the witches of what was coming. The king had feared that the witches had taken him hostage and done terrible things to him, so he held a meeting with all his knights. At this meeting, the king told his knights of his plans to attack the village where Felix had made his last contact at night when all the witches were to be asleep and set it ablaze. The knights took their orders and started to gather all they would need to complete their mission. The next morning all the knights said their farewells to their families and set off to the planet of the witch's village. They arrived by nightfall and waited patiently until all the witches were asleep. They then searched the village to see if there were any signs of Felix. Once they were certain that he wasn't there and that no witches were awake, they began to pour gasoline around the entire village and then distanced themselves from the village to a cliff where they lit an arrow on fire and shot it toward the village. Within seconds the entire village was engulfed in flames and all they could hear were the screams of the witches as they burned. The next morning, they returned to their home planet and informed the king of their success and informed him that they did not find Felix anywhere in the village.
