   EVANGELINE POV:
One hit. Two. 4 hits. 6. At this rate, I could
never survive. Not in this condition. Not when this has been going on for 10 years straight. Same words, same actions, all from the same person. My father. Robert Blackwood. Former husband of Vanessa Blackwood, son of Vincent Blackwood, CEO of one of the biggest businesses of London, UK, Europe and just globally. As his daughter it was my duty to be perfect. High grades, perfect body and face and excellent behaviour. Ever since mom died, it's just been my dad, my older brother Nathan and myself. Evangeline.

My brunette hair was smothered in blood, face covered in bruises and my body layer across on the floor.
(father) "YOU PATHETIC LITTLE CREATURE!! ITS ALL YOUR FAULT!"
This went on for hours. He finally stopped. I limped upstairs, blood trailing behind me. My brother stood up from the chair upstairs in the lounge and helped me up. We both sat on the couch with my blood smearing over it. (Nathan) "I'm so sorry...I-I was supposed to take care of you. I'm sorry I can't stop this." I rubbed my thumb on his arm as a sign of reassurance.

I washed up and patched up my wounds. No one from school knew it. We couldn't tell anyone what was happening. Not even the teachers. Not my friends nor my brothers. I would smear makeup all over my face and wear long blouses and full black stockings to cover the bruises up. It was tiring and I hated it.  I tiptoed down the hallway and pushed the wooden double doors. Inside those doors were books. Books I love. My only escape from this terrible world. This wasn't a small library. It was a huge library, just like the ones you see in The beauty and the beast. I walked up to a room in the library, my room. It was an old money, dark brown wood room with more books and bookshelves, maps, a globe, a desk to fit the aesthetic of the room and a queen sized bed for myself. This was the place to go when I have to escape. My leg was still limping from what happened, but I didn't think much of it. What I did think much of was tomorrow. School.

A dreadful place. Too crowded, too aggressive. Just the place I don't want to go to. I do have a few friends of mine. And they are family to me. Of course none of us are biologically related but they're still family. They have soooo much fun. I wish I could go but father holds me back from hanging out or even going out of the house. Jaqueline would sometimes sneak into my room as we have a backyard about half a golfyard and a greenhouse connecting to the library. She's come here a few times, but we've all been so busy lately.

Exam weeks been holding us all back. Especially me. Especially when my grades get sent straight away to my father's computer so he can check. I recently got an a- on my science and he was definitely not happy with that. I layed in bed and went to sleep. Hoping for tomorrow to come late.
