team hotel was crowded today and why not? the special Naman awards were back. it always had the fond and proudest moments among the Indian Cricket members, be it past, present or future. it gave the players the inspiration and motivated them to take a step higher in their game, in their career.
as much as there was happy atmosphere outside, there was brooding, gloomy session going on in Captain's room.
"rohit bhai, did u manage to get through him? is everything okay? what did he say?"
"shubi breathe, his phone is unreachable, I did talk to him in meeting but I am not sure what the emergency is, he told he will tell when he gets the clarity on it"
"but rohit bhai"
"we have to go down Yashasvi, get ready you all-- Rahul bhai would be reaching and we have to reach on time"
"rohit bhai"
"get out, go to your rooms, now"
everyone left the room hearing the captain tone from him.
"rohit, calm down, they are just worried and they are juniors-- you can't expect them to control their emotions like you"
"I know jad, I just hope everything is okay with vi, come let's smile for the cameras"
jaddu chuckled at his annoyed tone when he said that.
they just moved outside to see all the juniors waiting for him. jaddu patted his back signalling him to say something as they were standing like school kids waiting for him.
"look I am sorry guys, whenever virat will call, I will update you guys and if he has time we will talk to him together, how does that sound?"
everyone grinned at that and went to the awards ceremony.
Shubman reached there and froze, as if he was pulled back in time.
"shubi, come", rohit saw him at the entrance blocking everyone's way.
they got seated and the awards started.
once shubman's name got announced he didnt know why he subconsciously searched for someone, someone he wanted by his side today.
"it is a feeling of pride", he said and then got down the stage.
all he wanted to do was run and show the person this award, wanting to see the pride in his eyes.
shubman went to his room and called him, he knew he was not supposed to but he anyway did. there was no answer.
a tear tickled down his eye when he posted it on Insta.

"I miss you virat bhai, hope everything is okay" shubman said watching that pic.
virat was the one who had most connected when he joined the team because he looked upto him, in every possible manner and today all he wanted to show him that he made him proud.
"he is proud of you shubi"
"do u really think so?", he asked with moist eyes.
"we know so", KL and Rohit entered the room. they had seen the post coincidently at the same time and met at Shubman's door.
when they entered they saw him staring his and Virat's pic.
"when he will meet you na, he will say, "I knew he was gonna get it Rohit, the boy, my Shubi is so talented-- you have no idea", rohit kind of imitated virat which made shubman chuckle.
rohit pulled him in his arms and kl ruffled his hair, he knew how it was to get Virat's praise. he could relate to it a lot.
"will u stay with me here?" shubman asked and they gladly did, listening to Shubman speaking how he was awestruck when he met virat.
"miss you idiot", rohit murmured when shubman and kl were asleep.

Just a thought when I saw Shubman's post, it was kind of 10 years challenge for Virat and him. His post his so wholesome. He would have wanted Virat there.
