Chapter 2
---
The bell rings and Jace and Tucker disperse to their destined classes. I shyly walk away and grab my schedule out of my bag and searched for period 6. "Zoology?" I whisper to myself. I sigh and walk to the classroom. I step into the room and stop in the doorway. Jace is sitting slumped down in his seat. I flash him a smile and he perks up. My heart flutters madly. He looks back down at his book and I walk over to where he is sitting. I sit down and search around for a book. "Hi." I say.
Jace looks up at me and blushes, "Hi." he smiles back.
He gets out his books and I continue to search around for mine. Our teacher, Mr. Hatly, walks in slouched over. He seemed kind of depressed. Every school has one of those teachers with a sad past. Maybe he was Taylor High's. "Okay everyone, please turn to chapter 11." Mr. Hatly said in a boring tone. I sighed, then quietly raised my hand. "Um, I don't have a book." I said shyly. "Well then, just share with Jace for now."
I can feel my cheeks turn pink, and I am soon pulling a desk up next to Jace.
Mr. Hatly begins to ramble on about reproducing or some boring stuff, but I can't focus. I mean, Jace Whitfield is sitting next to me. My mind can't think about animal sex right now.
Finally, I can't continue writing notes anymore. I rip off a small slip of paper, grabbed my favorite purple pen, and wrote a note that read "What type of music do you listen to?". I pondered whether I should sign with a little star or heart at the bottom. "Jenna, calm down." I thought to myself. "He DOESN'T like you!" I thought again.
I pass the note over to him and flash him a smile. He smiles and without question opens it up. Why am I feeling this way about a guy I don't know anything about?
He writes down on the paper with no problem and passes it back to me.
"Ed Sheeran, Bon Iver, The Head and the Heart"
Holy hell. This guy is amazing. Music is my life, and if I can find someone with the same taste in music in me? Life would be perfect.
I scribble down "Good taste in music you have, Jace. I have tickets to Ed, but you'll have to win me over"
Damn, if only he could feel how fast my heart is beating right now.
I pass the note back over to him and he nodded and smiled. The bell rang and I gathered my books, and left him with that. Time went by too fast with him.

After school Tucker picked me up out front and we went out for ice cream.
"So, little sis, how was your first day?"
"Great, thanks for asking." I said with a blush.
"Ooooh I know what this blush is about. You've got the hots for Mr. Whitfield!"
Jenna Whitfield, has a nice ring to it.
"Actually I don't so you can just shut up!"
"Whateva, lil sis." he giggled.
We went back to eating our ice cream in silence, but my mind continued to think about Jace. I can't believe I met this kid today and we are already going to see Ed together. Finished with our ice cream, we drove home and blasted "Little Bird" by Ed himself. I then got on tumblr and searched his name. His page came up, and I smiled. I immediately clicked "follow" and started scrolling through his pictures.
They were really heartfelt, and I couldn't help but smile and think what was going on through his head when he posted them. I messaged him and attached my number, then logged out.
Tucker and I arrived home and I went up to my room. I changed into my favorite hoodie and sweatpants, then flopped onto my bed and grabbedi my laptop. I logged onto tumblr and found myself back on Jace's page.
Right now, I am the happiest I've been in a very, very, long time.
