The park seems nice.
Now that I think about it, I haven't skated in a long time. It's good I came.
"Fuck, I gotta go pee" Rick excused himself. I was left alone with a girl.
A great situation. (Sarcastic tone)
She seems a bit older than me. She seems a bit new to skateboarding as she was scared of stepping on the board."Here let me help, try placing your front foot on or a bit behind the screws and same with the back foot in a diagonal manner." I suggested
* Thud *
What in the world is he doing in the damn bathroom.
She still seemed to be hesitant. "Are you sure it won't move?" She asked.
"Well then grab onto something while getting on the board?"
"Right right thanks" she slowly let go of the support and there she was on the board overjoyed that it didn't move and she finally took the first step.
"It's really fun, you know. Especially skateboarding with friends."
"They make everything better, don't they? I'm Hanna, by the way." She said with a big smile.
"I'm Skylar."
It's been a while now and he still isn't back. I should go check up on him. I politely excused myself and went to the bathroom.
As I opened the door he fell towards me. He was lying on the floor unconscious.Beaten up.
I should've came sooner, dammit.
I picked him up and brought out. I called an ambulance with shaky hands.I dropped the phone when they said they were on their way.
He seems to have had a concussion. The bleeding won't stop too.
As soon as the ambulance came he was taken but I came along.
The machine was beeping. Each beep made me panic. The ambulance was too small.
I could've prevented this.
I could've done something if I didn't ignore the noise.
I could've caught those bastards.
I took him for granted.
I didn't care about his presence much. How he'd always cheer me up whenever I was down, he'd notice everything.
What did I ever do for him?
I always neglected him.
I could've been a better friend. The walls seemed to have become smaller and they kept shrinking, filling the room with the beeping noises of my mistakes.
The ride was only 25 minutes but it felt like a whole damn month to be honest.
In the end it wasn't that serious he didn't have many injuries and would probably be fit within 2 weeks.
I thanked the doctor.
I know what I have to do now.
Be a better friend.
I'll be what he deserves."Wake up...you have a job you know." I said as soon as I entered his room.
"Oh fuck off. Won't he let me off the hook this time?" He said in protest falling back on his bed."Nah. Who beat you up though?" I inquired confused as he's not the type to get bullied easily.
"I don't know...a few punks were trying to get their friend to smoke. Those looked like some quality ones. I grabbed them and threw them out the window. Their looks were priceless."
He proudly told me."That's good but before doing shit like that build yourself. How the fuck else do you expect yourself to face them?"
The door opened revealing that girl from the skatepark.
OH RIGHT I LEFT MY DAMN STUFF-"Here. Is your friend okay?" She asked.
"Yeah he'll be fine. Sorry for the trouble by the way."
"Don't worry about it. Let's skate together sometime."
"Oh yeah. Of course."
"Are you fuckers just gonna ignore me?! This ain't your damn show!" he shouted and threw a pillow at me.
"Shut up, side character." I said acting as if I was suffocating him with the pillow.
* Click *
The door opened revealing a nurse with a face oh complete horror.A really worth it 'break'.
