Sakusa could feel a pair of eyes on him, but for once he wasn't unhappy with it. As he knew that it was from the one person he had brought to the gym. He would be lying if he said he was comfortable with it however.
So he just went on with the rest of the game as if no one was looking at him. The rest of the team didn't know what to say, they were not used to Sakusa being alright with being looked at, never mind bringing someone into the game.
There was an eerie silence throughout the game, there was not the usual cheering and jesting, they took this fully serious. The coach can't remember the last time that the players, other than Sakusa, were taking practice this seriously. That to say, he was thankful for this one of a kind change that Yasue was bringing.
The coach walked over to the girl and sat on the bench. "Can I ask why you are sat over here?"
"Sakusa invited me to watch, sorry if I am in the way I can leave." She quietly said while standing up only to receive a wave from the coach telling her to sit back down. She did as suggested and sat back down.
"Do you know this is the first time Sakusa has invited anyone to watch training?" The coach said to her while watching the boys practice. He however did not wait for Yasue to respond as he kept on rambling. "You must be really close to him if he invited you himself. He doesn't like people other than people in the volleyball scene to watch him."
She blushed a bright red from what the older man was saying. Did Sakusa actually think they were that close? She didn't know what to think and the blush just became more and more obvious. The coach chuckled after glancing at the quiet girl and let the topic go, not wanting to drive the poor girl away.
A whistle went off and all of the boys suddenly slumped over and started to cool down. The coach had a great idea. "Yasue, if it doesn't bother you, could you please hand out water bottles to all of them?"
Yasue didn't know whether or not she should. The kindness in her wanted to but there was also the side of her that knows she will burn up in embarrassment by helping these people, most of which she didn't know existed until today. The coach seeing her hesitation moved the bottles closer to her in order to ease the hesitation.
Yasue picked up the carrier and started to make her way to the exhausted boys. When handing out a water bottle, the first person she came across was Komori, the boy offering her one of his classic smiles which managed to make her at ease, he would never tell her that it was his plan all along to try and make her less nervous.
Everyone in the club met Yasue with a friendly smile and thank you before she made her way to the last person she had to give water to. The person who makes her the most nervous, Sakusa Kiyoomi.
She couldn't help but look at her feet when she reached out, making Sakusa internally smile at her shyness. The bottle was taken from her hands with a nod before she quickly scuttled back over to the bench with the empty container to the beaming smile of the coach.
"You know you would make a great manager for the club." The coach prodded hoping to get some help from her with dealing with the players.
Yasue didn't know what to respond and simply sat back down, waiting for her to be able to leave without feeling rude. The boys got back to practicing this time with even more vigor as their focus is now 100% on the game, allowing Yasue to grab her bag and slip out of the gymnasium. She let out a sigh as soon as she stepped over the door frame.
The book in her bag calling her name and she couldn't wait to shove her nose in it in preparation for the next round of tests they were being made to take. The girl made her way to the library and managed to find a seat at her normal table.
Watching the practice was a good break from her studying and it allowed her to get a fresh start, making the studying go much quicker. She sat in the library for 2 hours and managed to complete her entire biology book.
Packing away her stationary a shadow suddenly covered the table. Looking behind her she saw a shy looking Sakusa stood there struggling to look into her eyes. She would have let out a small smile if he wasn't so curious as to why he was there.
"I was wondering why you left practice early. Were you uncomfortable? If so I'm sorry I shouldn't have invited you-" He rambled before being cut off by Yasue.
"I was uncomfortable but it wasn't because I was there specifically. It was mainly the fact that I felt like I was not needed there and I felt relaxed enough to start studying again."
Yasue could clearly see the clear relaxation on Sakusa's face, making a giggle manage to get out of her. The way that his emotions were starting to seem so clear to her made her enjoy being around him even more.
While that thought crossed her mind she still couldn't tell that he had the fattest crush on her...
