"You'll see me in hindsight tangled up with you all night."
"I used to dream about you." Serenity was rarely one for pillow talk. Either she was knocked out, or Alex was rambling and she was desperately trying to keep up.
But for some reason, the mood struck. Maybe, it was because Alex wasn't talking and she felt the need to fill the silence, maybe she just really needed to get this off her chest.
"Were they sexy dreams?" Alex smirked lazily, as she burrowed further under their shared comforter.
Serenity rolled her eyes, "Not all of the time."
"Oh well you can keep those to yourself." Alex flipped onto her other side away from Serenity with a dramatic snore.
Serenity laughed then draped herself over Alex's side, "Hey, I listen to you ramble about soccer things. I really thought you'd develop a hobby by now, by the way."
"Fine. Tell me about your not sex dreams about me. I'm ignoring the last part."
"Some of them were like this. Us just laying next to each other."
"You ever have these while you were with Kelsey?" Alex said her name like it was a curse.
"Yes. Don't let it go to your head."
"Too late!"
Serenity flicked Alex's ear, Alex only laughed, "Would you focus?"
Alex turned onto her back, so Serenity could mold herself against her side, "Sorry, your tits were on my back, I was fighting for my life. Luckily for you, I am not the same woman I was four seconds ago. I'm all ears."
Serenity placed her head on Alex's shoulder, "You're goofy. Anyway, as I was saying. I've never had a bad dream about you...the feeling I got waking up from them was but never the dream itself."
Alex hummed, "What was the most common dream, if there was one?"
"I'm trying to keep you on topic, so I won't tell you that, but the second one...we're sitting on the beach. There's birds chirping, and waves are crashing, everything is normal, except you're talking and no matter what I do, I can't hear you."
"What do you think it means?"
Serenity smiled into the side of Alex's neck, "Well, after a few minutes of trying to tell you I can't understand you, you laugh and grab a stick then write out 'I love you' in the sand. I don't think there's much meaning beyond that. You love me and that's all that matters."
Alex placed a soft kiss on Serenity's head, "I do love you. So much."
"And I love you."
"Great. Now, about that other recurring dream you had..."
Serenity groaned, "If I tell you, you have to promise not to tease me about it."
"It'd be easier to give our dogs a bath."
"Those are my terms, Baby."
"Ugh. I won't tease you. Now, please, tell me, I'm dying over here."
Serenity pressed her lips closer to Alex's ear, "You know how I love cars. I have this very vivid dream about you driving us down the freeway with your hand down my pants, and you keep telling me to be quiet, but I can't, so I keep moaning your name until you can't take it anymore and you pull over and take me in the backseat."
Alex swallowed harshly, "Which car?"
Serenity hummed lowly, "Sometimes, it's the BMW, sometimes it's the Range, but it's always one of your cars. Never mine."
