(Notme's pov)

Honestly, I was used to being knocked out and waking up in chains. The villains of my book did that a lot to me. It made me wonder for a split second about Julie writing them doing that to me. But I quickly put that thought aside. I loved her, nothing could change that.

Anyway, I opened my eyes to being in a dark room, Nyla right next to me. Her eyes were closed, but I could tell she was awake. I peeked into her mind, realizing she was using her aura powers to see where we are. It was a planet with a vast green jungle, a planet she described as flora. It was in the same universe, just a different planet. How we got here, I had no clue.

She opened her eyes and looked at me.

"You okay?" She asked, her voice a little hoarse. It was then that I noticed the horrible pain all over my body. It felt like tiny spikes everywhere. That's because they were tiny spikes, specifically cactus thorns.

"No, I think I'm hurt." I replied quietly.

There were a few jumbled voices outside a door, only one was legible.

"Good job getting their two most powerful party members out of the way." A female voice said. Another voice in a gargling language I didn't recognize followed. "Escape? Ha! We disarmed them of all their weapons, magic and items! Sure, they could pick the lock, but they have nothing to do so!"

The voices faded. I tried to open my imposter mouth to use the sharp tongue to pick the lock, but there was a muzzle on my stomach. I groaned in annoyance.

I got the most stupid idea I've ever had. If I could just get him to listen...

I prayed to the demon from a short story called punchline. I just needed a little bit of his power, so I could use them without losing control of myself. I thought hard, until I felt a powerful energy coursing through my hands.

"Ack!" I yelped, the power searing painfully. I whimpered quietly, until my eyes started glowing. Nyla appeared horrified.

"Notme, what are you doing!?" She whisper-yelled.

"Getting us out of here, the hell does it look like I'm doing?!" I replied, my voice reverberating.

I summoned a sharp crystal, floating it into the keyhole of the chain. It wiggled around until the lock was released. I rubbed my wrist before grabbing the crystal, picking the lock holding Nyla captive.

"That was both a bad and genius idea." She commented.

"Hey, it worked!"

"Touché."

I pushed the door, but it was locked. Obviously. Why wouldn't it be?

"Ok, locked. Any ideas?" I asked Nyla. She grabbed the door handle and pulled. It opened for her. I sputtered in confusion.

"Ha!" she teased, "it was a pull door, idiot!" She smirked mischievously as I let out an exasperated sigh.

We quietly ran through the weirdly large building. The walls were all white, with tiny gray rooms on the sides. I had no idea where we were going, I was just following my gut.

We arrived at a larger room, where we were spotted. It was a girl with a red sweater and black shorts that exposed battle scars. She had a black tail with a red tip.

"What are you doing." the zoroark, Kira, said sternly. Nyla and I glanced at each other, thinking the same thing. No weapons, no magic, and only one thing to do.

We turned to run, but the entrance behind us was gone.

Kira was about to charge, but was stopped by a familiar ghost girl and Arcanine.
