On the third of the eleventh month, at seven fifty-nine in the evening, a pair of twins were welcomed to the Noble House of Black. Sirius Orion and Lyra Walburga. Their parents needed an heir, and to their luck they ended up with an heir and a spare. Orion had always wanted a son to carry the family legacy and was granted with Sirius . Sirius had been brought up so he could lead the family and carry the surname Black with honour and pride. Lyra had been brought up so she would make a perfect wife and mother, to be able to stay home and let the men go to work at the ministry .On the twins eleventh birthday they both received their Hogwarts acceptance letters. They were both ecstatic and couldn't wait after hearing their cousins marvel over the school. Sirius and Lyra would be seen as guaranteed Slytherin's like the rest of the family, but that wouldn't be for them to decide.
On the first of September the following year, Sirius and Lyra boarded the Hogwarts express. They both sat together in a compartment and bought sweets from the trolley, which only made them even more excited for Hogwarts. The twins had both bought a chocolate frog each, Sirius scoffed his whilst Lyra took her time to eat hers. Lyra and Sirius' cards that were hidden in their magical treat had been - Salazar Slytherin and Godrick Gryffindor.
The pair both changed into their unmarked robes and waited for the train to come to a stop at Hogsmede station. Sirius was leant against the window looking for the village whilst Lyra sat and read 'Hogwarts: A History'.
"Lyra! I can see the station," Sirius exclaimed pressing his cheek further into the wind trying to get a better view, "Come look!"
Lyra placed her bookmark into the page she was reading and stood, walking over towards the window where she could she the upcoming village. The trees surrounding the track started to have an orange hue, the colour of the leaves showing that autumn had made its arrival. The houses were lined up in rows with a few shops, pubs and tea rooms fitting in between them. The village look like a place out of a fantasy novel especially with the Hogwarts grounds in the background. The castle looked ancient and like it held many stories, memories and legendary tales from the best witches and wizards that have ever lived. The ruby red train came to a halt and students began to rush out and hurry onto the platform where a large, hairy giant waited with a dog which was very clearly drooling.
"Right, first years 'ollow me!" The giant bellowed causing some of the first years to flinch, showing their nervousness and shock of the massive man.
Lyra and Sirius followed him towards a dock which was occupied by little enchanted rowing boats. Sirius jumped into one and almost capsized but he quickly rose to his feet to help his sister climb into the boat. The pair were joined by two other wizards who introduced themselves as James Potter and Remus Lupin. Sirius started a conversation with them straight away and they seemed to get along whilst Lyra looked down into the murky water hoping to see the giant squid or merpeople. Sirius and James thought it would be amusing to try rock the boat whilst Lyra and Remus were quick to disagree trying to keep a tight grip on the side of the boat before it tipped. The rest of the journey across the Black Lake went smoothly and quickly once the mischievous duo had their fun.
