Chases And Annoyances

Peppy walked out of the tent with glossy eyes and a dejected look. Sapphire just behind him as they came out. They talk a lot about what could have possibly happened to Floyd and Branch in the forest, and the fire that apparently happened. But also the changes of personality of both boys. It was quite revealing to say the least, Sapphire isn't sure what to do about it.

What the two went through was traumatic, she couldn't imagine what it would be like to see your remaining family being taken by Bergens. Or what it's like to escape said Bergens by yourself, seeing that Rosiepuff is….she's still surprised Floyd managed to escape. 

When they discussed the changes of the brothers it was pretty jarring. She never knew them personally until recently so she can't really tell, but king Peppy knew them longer. He described them as sweet boys that are a little sassy. Floyd being the responsible older brother and Branch being the mischievous one. She thought the king was lying at first. It was really hard for her to imagine them as these sweet kids. 

Floyd apparently was a bit shy around other trolls, but still talked to them. He does things on his own most of the time, bringing Branch with him though. 

Branch on the other hand was reckless and has gotten into trouble. He loved messing with other trolls and usually they knew it was him (That would actually explain that one time she found herself and her family faces colored on). Loves to talk to trolls when he can, but not for a long time for Floyd sakes. Just a very happy troll in general.

But now…

Floyd doesn't talk much to anyone, even to his brother now. Is very secretive about things that happened. And refuses any help from anyone.

Branch can get very angry and lashes out at anyone (As she saw in the tent) and like his brother refuses any help (Peppy said he managed to help him a few times). He is also very paranoid about his brother's safety (She doesn't blame him).

Peppy started to cry the more they talked about it. She decided to stop for his sake, and they would talk more about it later and make a plan. She knows how much he cares about them. 

For now they decided to head back to the tent, and find a new home. They walked in silence as they were both deep in thought. Ignoring the other trolls as they walk by. Surprisingly they didn't try to bother them though, they probably noticed the expression on their faces. 

This continued until Peppy broke it, “Do you think they get their color back.” turning his head towards her, eyes still glossy. 

The question caused her to pause in her tracks, Peppy stopping right after her. A little surprised by her actions. He then looked away dejected. “Can I even help them?”

 She didn't immediately answer him, thinking long and hard about it. She had seen Branch gray, everyone has, but she has noticed his colors getting brighter, same with Floyd. 

She looked at the king and smiled, “I think you don't have to worry. Their colors are getting brighter. They trust you right?”

Peppy shrugged, “A little I think.”

“You help them?”

He nodded.

“Do they expect it?”

“Sometimes.”

She put her hand on his shoulder, “Then you are a step closer to getting their colors back.”

His eyes widened, then he smiled, “Thank you.”

He then pulled her into a hug, “You're welcome.” she said softly, and hugged back. “I'll help whatever way I can.”
