*Lucius POV*
It has been a few weeks since the kiss between me and Sev, and it seems like old news to everyone in the school. Most people assume we are in a relationship now, but they never see us together. However, the truth is that Sev and I haven't spoken to each other since that day, not even a simple greeting like "Hi" or "How are you?". It's a little disheartening, as Sev is my best friend, and I would rather go back to admiring him from a distance than experience this silence and loneliness.
The Yule Ball is fast approaching, and students are making frequent trips to Hogsmeade during their free time and weekends to prepare for the event. Lately, I have noticed that Severus has been avoiding me. Whenever I walk past him, he quickly scurries away, looking nervous and hesitant. I have no idea what he's trying to do or avoid. I suppose I'll just have to wait and see.
*Severus POV*
These past few weeks have been a constant struggle between my desire to maintain a professional demeanor at Hogwarts and the growing feelings I have for Lucius. The kiss we shared at the start of the school year has left me in a state of confusion, torn between my responsibilities as a professor and my emotions.
As the Yule Ball approached, a lingering question weighed heavily on my mind. I found myself hesitating, unsure of how to breach the subject with Lucius. The idea of asking him on a date to Hogsmeade and, subsequently, to the ball left me both anxious and excited. In an attempt to gather my courage, I started to observe Lucius from afar, trying to decipher any subtle cues that might hint at his feelings. The corridors of Hogwarts became my testing ground, and every encounter with him felt like a step closer or farther from the truth.
One afternoon, as I watched him from a distance, I noticed a hint of loneliness in his eyes. It struck a chord within me, urging me to overcome my apprehension. The decision was made – I would invite Lucius to Hogsmeade and, if the stars aligned, ask him to accompany me to the Yule Ball.
Summoning my courage, I approached him after a particularly engaging Defense Against the Dark Arts class. "Lucius," I called out, my voice more composed than I felt inside. He turned to face me, his expression a mix of surprise and curiosity."I was wondering if you'd like to join me in Hogsmeade this weekend," I said, my words carefully chosen.
Lucius studied me for a moment, his silver eyes revealing a flicker of happiness. His face went a little red. "S-Sure, Sev. I-I have some free time this weekend."
A wave of relief washed over me, knowing that Lucius had accepted my invitation. "I'll see you Saturday after dinner," I replied with a hint of anticipation.
As we parted ways, I couldn't help but feel a sense of hope. Perhaps this step would not only bring clarity to our feelings but also pave the way for a new chapter in our relationship, one that extended beyond the confines of Hogwarts and into the complexities of our intertwined hearts.
530 Words. Short again, but I actually have some ideas! I just thought it would be best to have their date in the next chapter. I also do have a lot of homework this week so I won't be getting much writing time.
