To Tess
School is easy for someone like Tessa, or Tess as they call her. She is smart, athletic, popular, and the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. I have never talked to her personally, but I desperately wish I had the courage to. So, I’m writing this for you, Tess. I love you, I’ve loved you since the day I saw you, since the day I bumped into you I felt like you were my missing piece, the one part of me that I had been longing for, and I just didn’t know it yet. This letter will never reach you, nor anyone, but I hope the universe sends you to me. I hope you wake up someday and realise that I’m the only one for you too. I promise to wait for you.

That was a heavy letter to write, my eyes already watering and my hands still shaking slightly as I toss the paper into a small fire I made in my backyard.
I squat awkwardly over the damp grass, watching the flames envelop the folded paper. This last-ditch effort isn’t going too well, I don’t know what I was expecting, but I didn’t get any closure.
I still love her, and fire isn’t going to change that. At least, not a fire this small.
School is torture now, having to see her face everywhere I go. I used to think having so many classes with her would be good, but now it just bums me out, knowing I have no chance with her.
A woman that beautiful, there is no way she isn’t straight, but that won’t stop me from staring.
Just as my eyes reach the back of her head she turns around.
“Hey kiddo, got a pencil?” She asked, her soft yet still confident tone making me freeze in place.
My face turns bright red and my arm extends, my pencil tightly gripped in my fist.
“Heh, thanks” She nods appreciatively and turns back around. Fuck, that was my last pencil.
Oh well, totally worth it to feel her hand briefly brush against mine like that.
And she already has a pet name for me, kiddo, I’ll take what I can get and I certainly consider that a major win.
At least she knows I exist now, I’m on her roster, now all that's left is… everything else.
