A Dark Secret? (Rewrite)

Here is the long-awaited update, four years in the making. Just a heads up before you start, my writing style has changed a lot due to my extensive English classes. I plan on having longer parts for this series and hope that you all enjoy this crazy ride of mine.

I looked down at the baby that was lying on the table as a surge of emotions coursed through my body; I had nearly lost him, my son, my Happy. I gathered him into my arms and held him close to my chest as tears began to stream down my face and memories of a younger me flashed through my mind. Nobody would harm him, not anymore, not while I was alive. They would pay for this, and Erza Scarlet had to pay for this. After all, it was her sword that pierced his body. I felt Happy stir in my arms and heard him coo softly as his tiny fist clutched onto my vest.

"Hello my little Happy, welcome to the world. I promise that nobody will ever hurt you again." Natsu said as he rubbed Happy's back and began to walk around the castle with him.

Natsu passed through several halls pointing out different features to Happy along the way. He bumped into Zeref who looked down at Happy with a raised eyebrow before looking back up at Natsu. "Since when could you create an Ehterious?" He asked in a confused tone.

"Since I'm basically the strongest Ehterious in existence. Aren't you supposed to be smart Zeref? Whenever you created Etherious, you would inject a small sliver of your power into them thinking that it would be enough to kill you. When you created me, I happened to get your knowledge on the creation of Ehterious." Natsu said in a deadpan.

"Well excuse me if I don't know what powers my Etheri have." Zeref grumbled.

"How do you not know this when you literally created us?! My God, Zeref, I severely question who the smart one in the family is." Natsu said in an exasperated tone.

"Well excuse me Natsu, I was thinking about dying whenever I created the Etherious, so of course I'm not going to pay attention to the fact that they have access to a small, miniscule, amount of my power." Zeref said with narrowed eyes.

Natsu rolled his eyes and walked away, "Don't you have that blonde haired girl to obsess over right now?" He said with a smirk as he continued walking away leaving Zeref to stare at him with a dumbfounded look on his face. Natsu finally arrived to his bedchambers and set Happy down on his bed. Happy began to gurgle happily as he sucked on his fist. Natsu smiled down at him and began to pinch Happy's sides causing him to gurgle even more and loudly squeal as he laughed. "Oh look the dragon's coming to get you!" Natsu said as he let out a playful roar before scooping Happy up into his arms and falling backwards with him. "Ah I've been attacked, you have to help me!" Natsu said dramatically.

"I never thought that I would see the day that Natsu Dragneel became a father." Gajeel said from the entrance of the room causing Natsu to roll his eyes.

"What do you want you metalhead?" Natsu grumbled as he hugged Happy close to him.

"We, the Dragon Slayers, need to discuss our predicament. Your father Igneel was an elemental Dragon King meaning that you yourself inherited that position. And we all have unanimously agreed that we do not want to accept Acnologia as the actual Dragon king so we kind of need to kill him, and by we, I mean you." Gajeel said as he walked forward and sat at the edge of the bed.

"Gajeel, I need you to really think about this. You want me, an Etherious Dragon slayer hybrid thing, to kill Acnologia and become the new Dragon king. Do you even realize that you're basically suggesting that we start a whole new Dragon king festival. Quite frankly, I'd rather not go through that again." Natsu said with a raised eyebrow.

"Well we still need to deal with the Acnologia problem, he wants to kill the whole world." Gajeel said in a serious tone.

"I say fuck the world, we need a reset, so might as well kill a few of the people, specifically Erza." Natsu said in an empty tone.

Gajeel sighed and shook his head, "Natsu, just please think this through. If not for saving anybody else, then for making sure that Happy remains alive." He said before walking out.

Natsu sighed and stared up at the cieling of his room as he rubbed Happy's back in a soothing manner. Acnologia was a rising problem that needed to be dealt with, but Natsu wasn't sure if he could defeat him. Zeref himself wasn't able to fight him, and Igneel had died in the process. The last thing Natsu wanted was to die to a power hungry idiot. Several plans began to form in his mind; first, he had to deal with Fairy Tail and secondly, he had to defeat and kill Acnologia and lastly, he had to somehow defeat a God and then convince him to remove Zeref's curse. Natsu was a busy man, and he had his work cut out for him.

"How the fuck am I supposed to do all of this?" He said as he rubbed his temples while Happy continued to sleep peacefully curled up on his chest.
