Felicity's first day of school could not have been better. She was late, so she was rushing to her first class. Her eyes were glued to the classroom numbers as she speed-walked to English, so she didn't notice the guy standing in her way until she had bumped into him and made him drop his bag. "Excuse me! Oh I'm so sorry!!" Felicity exclaimed, bending down to pick up the books that had scattered all over the floor.

"It's fine, don't worry about my books, I'll pick them up myself. You look like you're in a hurry, where are you going?"

"Room 34. The map says it's on the second floor."

"Oh, those maps are old maps. The school was renovated last year, Room 34 is actually here in the first floor. It's the last room to your right."

"Oh my god, thank you so much!!"

"No problem, you don't need to be in such a hurry. I know Ms. Kading, she's a cool teacher. She's wouldn't make a big deal if you're late unless you make it a habit."

"Thanks!"

"So... umm... I'm Kevin."

"Felicity."

"That's a really pretty name."

"Thanks! Wait, were you here last year?"

"Oh, my brother's a junior this year, and I've been here a lot."

"That's nice."

"Yep. So... maybe I could show you around the school sometime."

"That would be great. Anyway, I shouldn't be too late. I'll catch you later."

"Yeah, bye!"

"Bye Kevin!" Felicity said as she walked to English. She walked in and found everyone bunched up in the back of the room, with the teacher, Ms. Kading, standing in front. She smiled as Felicity walked in, saying, "Stand at the back with everyone else. I have a special activity to help you get to know each other. I have everyone's name on this dart board," she pointed at the dart board behind her, "I'll pick names from the bowl, and if you hear your name, come up and throw a dart. The person whose name it lands on will be your partner for this month."

Felicity went over to the back to stand with everyone else. She watched and waited as half the class was paired up. Then, a girl with long black hair that was tied in a braid was picked to throw a dart. Instantly, Felicity hoped that she'd get picked. And she did.

"Felicity Wheeler?"

"That's me!" Felicity said, walking up to the front. Ms. Kading pointed out a desk and the two of them sat together.

"Hey," Felicity said.

"Hi!" The girl responded.

"I'm Felicity."

"Lily."

"Omg that's such nice name!"

Lily giggled, "Thanks! My name's actually Lilian, but everyone calls me Lily."

"Are you serious? You have two pretty names!! I'm so jealous right now!! Just kidding, but still, you're really lucky."

"You're actually the first person to say that. I think we're going to be very good friends."

"You'd bet we will!" They were interrupted by Ms. Kading giving them the next set of instructions, and just like that, it was brunch. Lily had told Felicity where to meet up, so Felicity followed her directions and found herself in the art room. She walked in, admiring all the beautiful drawings. One of them in particular caught her eye. It was a butterfly drawing that looked so real that she thought it was actually a butterfly for one second, before realizing that the shadow was in the wrong direction.

The drawing captured her attention so fully that she didn't realize that Lily and her friends had joined her until Lily tapped her on her shoulder and said, "I'm sure that butterfly is quite flattered, but it's feeling a bit awkward with all your staring."

"Okay, okay! Let's go eat," Felicity replied, laughing.

They sat down on the floor on the side of the room, and Lily introduced all her friends., "This is Casey, James, Allie, Hailey, Jacob and Kimberly," pointing at each one. "Guys, this is Felicity."

"Hey, Felicity!" the girl sitting next to me said, smiling welcomingly. Felicity just smiled back- she'd forgotten the girl's name already. Lily and her friends talked a lot. Through their non-stop jabbering, Felicity memorised their names, and learnt a little about each of them. The girls whose name she didn't remember was Kimberly.

Kimberly was short, blond and had her hair up in a very neat bun. She was wearing a pair of shorts and a plain blue T-shirt. She had been dating Jacobs since the year before. Jacob was on the shorter side too.

Casey and James were sort-of dating, like, it was really obvious that they liked each other but they were "just best friends."

And Allie and Hailey were twin sisters, but they didn't look alike. It was obvious that Lily felt left out sometimes. "Hey Lily? Do you want to take a walk?" Felicity whispered, seeing that she looked left out. "Yes, please!" Lily replied, but the bell rang, so they all got up together. "What do you guys have next?" Hailey asked, which was answered by two "math"s, a "science", an "english" and three "writings"s. Felicity looked around to see who else had writing with her, finding Jacob and Kimberly looking back at her. Felicity sighed, she was going to be third-wheeling them throughout her writing class. Glad she at least had some friends, she followed them to her class. She sat on the desk behind them and began to read on her phone.

Just then, someone came and sat next to her. She looked up and saw "Kevin!"

"In the flesh!"

"It's nice to know I'll have more company in this class!"

"More company? Who else do you know here?"

"Kimberly and Jacob," Felicity said, pointing.

"Wait seriously? How do you know them?!?"

"I sat with them in brunch, why?"

"You...really?"

"Kevin? What's going on?"

"That group hasn't let anyone sit with them since sixth grade. They are, for some reason, really particular about-"

"Shhh, Kevin, they're right in front of us."

"Particular about who they sit with. They know all the gossip and always have dates to everything."

"And you know this from...middle school?"

"Yep, the rest of our grade had an almost official game to try and sit with them. I still can't believe you're sitting with them!!!"

"Hmmmm."

"Anyway, how about I show you around after school today?"

"Sure!"
