First Day at School (III)

Percy POV

I groaned as Nikki walked towards me. To be honest she wasn't one of those Barbie girls. She was actually really pretty. Her brown hair was rolled up in a bun (Is that what that thing is called ?) and her sense of fashion was not that bad. (No where as beautiful as you wise girl. Don't murder me !! ) But she was obsessive. No matter how many times I said I didn't want to go out with her, she never gave up. (Okay. you don't need to kill her either.)

She saw me and of course made a beeline for me.

" PEERCY !! " She said as she reached me. "How was your summer ?"

"Uh... It was"

"And have you been working out ? you look awesome ! And how did you get that nice tan !! "

"Umm..."

Annabeth saved me. She stepped in front of me. "Hi I am Annabeth. I am Percys girlfriend"

"Huh ? Oh Hii. You new here ? Wait. What ? "

I recovered myself. "Yeah. Annabeth is my girlfriend. We are attending this school together."

Nikki shifted her gaze from me to Annabeth and then back to me. "Huh. Oh." She looked back at Annabeth. She must have been giving quite a gaze, because Nikki faltered slightly. "Oh. I am sorry. I didn't know he was taken"

"Well he is taken alright." Annabeth replied.

"Of course. I apologize. " She said. We were just friends. She tried for a smile, which was quite difficult in front of an angry Annabeth. (Trust me. I speak from experience) I should be going. My class is quite far. She laughed nervously. See you later ?

"Yeah. Later". I said. She clutched her books and hurried away.

'Hmm. She was acting weird.' I thought, turning to Annabeth. She didnt really look very happy. "Lets go. We dont want to be late."

"Hey Percy, will we have to deal with a lot of people like that ?" She asked as we made our way to our class.

"Not really. mostly they just left me alone. But there might be a few troublemakers."

"You never told me you had your own little fan club. She said jokingly."

"I really wish I didnt. I hate the attention. "

"And here I thought you loved the spotlight."

"Maybe at camp. Its different here. School is horrible."

Annabeth just laughed as we reached our class. It was Math, which sucked, because I was going to get sleepy on the first day. The teacher was okay, but she gave us Algebra work on the first day. Like WHO DOES THAT !!! WHOO WOULD BE SO CRUEL !!! And to make matters worse Dyslexia made it impossible to solve the problems. Even Annabeth struggled a bit, which made me feel better. Hey, maybe I wasnt too far behind after all. That good feeling lasted for about 5 minutes, because Annabeth finished before anyone else and started to check my work. ( And thats when I realized, Naaah. I am still miles behind)

The rest of the day (till recess) was boring. We had English, separate classes for History (ugh). At lunch we went to sit with my friends. A little while later Nikki approached our table.

"Hey. Can I sit here ?" She asked.

"Sure" Sam moved over to make space for her. I could see Annabeth wasnt really thrilled by the Idea, so I held her hand under the table.

I had hoped that we might get through the day without any more drama, but unfortunately my Luck ran out as we were heading to our electives. I just turned the corner when I ran into Eric.

"Hey ! Watch were you are going a******. He said."

"Oh look. Its Eric. Cheerful as always. "

"Eric took a step towards me. You looking for a fight Jackson ? "

"Oh please. Why would I want to...."

"Percy. Thats enough." Annabeth said. She took my hand and steered me away from the scene.

"So. Not one of your buddies."

"I snorted. Id rather die than make him my buddy"

Annabeth stopped outside of her class. "See you later Seaweed brain. Dont do something stupid ."

"I smiled at my girlfriend. I survived worse conditions than this. This is quite tame in comparison."

Annabeth reached up and kissed my forehead. "I will meet you at the entrance, ok ?"

I nodded. "Catch ya later wise girl." I said as I headed down the hall to my class.

In my hurry I failed to notice Eric standing in the hallway, an evil gleam in his eyes as he looked at Annabeth and me. And little did I suspect how horrible he was going to make my life.
