Viviane's POV
Warning: May be triggering

"You worthless piece of shit!" The man I call my dad said, earning me a kick to my stomach. "You're the reason why your mom left me!" He yelled while repeatedly kicking me on my side. After a while he got tried of beating me and left to get himself drunk and high.

I was left there on the cold floor with new bruises for me to cover up. But I've had it, I know he would come back drunk and hit me for no reason. All I am to him is his 'free' punching bag, but I'm done with his bullshit.

I got up in pain and went up stairs, to my room. I limped over to my closet, grabbed my suitcase and stared to pack all my things. Once I was done I knew I was forgetting something. I looked around I had my clothes, toothbrush, toothpaste, hair things and my bracelets. Then I remembered, my blades... I walked to my dresser and grabbed the cold, shinny metal. I put it inside my hoodie's pocket, and grabbed my phone and suitcase and headed downstairs.

I didn't bother to leave a note, like he would care where I was. I unlocked the front door and stepped out. "I'm finally free." I said to myself. I plugged my headphones into my phone and The Cheap Bouquet by Pierce The Veil came on. I dropped my skateboard and proceeded to skate down the side walk thinking where I'm going to go from here. "I can either live on the streets and risk myself, or go to Lovely Side Orphanage." I said to myself. I'm defiantly not going to survive, alone on the streets. So might as well go to the orphanage.

As I was approaching the orphanage, I saw a stumbling figure walking along the sidewalk. Once the figure was getting closer it became more familiar. I then noticed it was the person I never wanted to see again...my dad.

I panicked, I didn't want to that hell hole I call my home. I quickly looked around and found a trash can near a dark alley. I ran and hid behind it, hoping that he wouldn't see me. For a while I didn't hear anything, which made me calm down, but then I heard grunting and footsteps getting louder and louder.

Second by second I started to get anxious and felt my anxiety eating me alive. I waited for the noises to stop, but they didn't. I felt a chill go down my spine as the noises became more distinctive. "Hey, girl!" He slurred, I stopped breathing he'd seen me. 'I'm going to die' I thought to myself. He continued to walk towards me, but that's when I heard glass shatter and loud thud. Moments later it was silent for a while, but I didn't dare to go out.

"It's safe to come out." I heard a familiar voice say, only it wasn't my dad's. I hesitated at first, but slowly got up and walked out behind the trash can. I saw a very tall man, almost giraffe like standing where my dad was passed out on the concrete floor. The only problem was that I couldn't really see him.

I stood there in silence, until he finally spoke. "What are you doing out here at night, alone?" He asked. I sighed, "Well I sorta ran away from my abusive father, who you just happened to hit." I said with a chuckle. He chuckled back, "Well then I don't feel bad about what I just did." he said as I saw pearly white teeth appear. That smile looked so familiar, but where have I seen it? And how could I be so comfortable talking to a complete stranger in a dark alley? I asked myself. He seemed to have this nice vibe to him even though I still couldn't see him. But he did smell a little like weed but that's probably just the smell from our surrounding. I mean we are in a dark alley.

We stayed quiet for a bit until he spoke again. "So...where are you going to stay now? You can't go back to your house." he asked concerned. I loved how he cared so much even though we just met. "I was thinking of going to the orphanage, since I have no where else to go." I said. He let out a sigh of relief, I gave him a questioning look, but he probably couldn't see it and just nodded.

We again stood in silence so I decided to speak. "Well I better get going, it's getting late and I don't want him to wake up anytime soon." I said pointing to the passed out guy behind us. "But it was nice meeting you!" I said truthfully. I started to walk started to walk towards the sidewalk.

Before I could reach the sidewalk, I heard him yell "Hey!". I quickly turned around and smiled. "I never got your name." he said. "Viviane, Viviane Alvarez." I said blushing a little...why? you may ask, I really don't know. All I could see was his friendly smile, I smiled back and waved goodbye and walked out of the alley. And proceeded
towards the orphanage, that I'll be calling my home for a while.

I got to the front of the orphanage and knocked multiple times until a middle aged lady answered. She looked down at me and let me in. She walked over to her desk and sat in front of her computer. It was quiet so I spoke, "Hey, could I possibly stay here? I ran away from my abusive father and have no where to go." I said. "Has he disowned you?" She asked. I thought about it, he has told me on multiple occasions that he wanted me out of his life, so I guess he has. "Yes, he has." I responded.
She simply nodded, "Okay, just give me your name, age, and birthday." she said. "Vivian Alexa Alvarez, I'm seventeen, and my birthday is September 27, 1997. She typed my information into the computer and looked up at me. "Your room is the second to last door, it's burgundy so you won't miss it and your roommate is Braylee. I nodded and headed up stairs to 'My Room'.

I stopped in front of the
colored door and couldn't hear Identity Disorder by Of Mice and Men. I smiled and knocked on the door.

A girl with lilac purple hair answered and smiled at me. "Hi, you must be Braylee." I shyly said. "Yep, that's me!" She said with a giggle. "And you are?". "Oh sorry, I'm Viviane your new room mate." I said carefully waiting for the rejection . She smiled brightly, "Cool!, I've been getting pretty lonely here, since every one is either younger or doesn't like what I like. But I can tell we are going to get along!" She said excitedly, while pointing at my PTV shirt and band bracelets. I smiled and walked into the room.

"Well you can put your things here for now." she said guiding me to a desk below band posters. "I'll just put on some music, and help you settle in." she said smiling. I smiled back and started to unzip my suitcase. "Um...do you like Bring Me The Horizon?" She asked. "Oh course I do." I said laughing. She nodded and put the Sempiternal album on and walked towards me to help unpack.

"So what happened? Why did you suddenly show up at the orphanage?" She asked. "I ran away from my dick head father and I had no where else to go, so I came here." I said. She made an "o" shape with her mouth. "Sorry if it was personal I didn't mean to ask." She said. "Don't be, it's fine, I hated him so it's nothing personal."

From there we just talked and got myself settled in. I have a feeling that I'll like it here, especially since I'm away from that monster and have Braylee.
