You were walking back from school when you got a text from your brother.
"mum fell down stairs bringing her to hospital go to hospital"
You panicked. Your brother always used proper grammar and punctuation unless it was a real emergency. You raced across the road, your brain too messed up to remember to look for cars.
When you were halfway across the road, you heard a horn honking loudly. Looking to the side, you saw a car speeding towards you. You couldn't move and your feet were stuck to the road. The sound of the horn flooded into your ears. You saw a blur of red and felt yourself pushed onto the sidewalk. When you regained your senses, you saw a boy in front of you with spiky brown hair and eyes. He was wearing a red gi and was looking at you worriedly.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
You nodded, comprehending the fact that you narrowly escaped death.
"I'm Kai." he said.
You gaped at him. "The red ninja?" you asked, starstruck.
He nodded proudly.
"I'm y/n." you said.
"Well, y/n, you seem nice." he said. "Remember to look before crossing the road, y/n. I have to go. Bye!"
He went off. You suddenly remembered your mother and rushed off.
