I shouldn't have read this book at quarter to ten.

I finished the entire novel in eight hours and took a five minute water break each hour.

Even though I had a class at eight in the morning...after reading three chapters I just couldn't stop putting it down.

The heroine in this story is named Philomena Rocherlieu. Philomena is Delancy's older sister who is the villainess of this story.

Chaos started when Delancy got proposed by the one and only, Prince Elliot Fitzroy Vermillion.

Prince Elliot was ranked as the most sought-after bachelor in the empire and it's not only because he was a prince.

He was so much more than a blue-blood.

He was elegant, graceful, charming, extremely attractive, and mighty strong and intelligent.

All the qualities a woman could ask for in a man.

He would be the embodiment of the ideal man in the empire, if there ever was one.

He is flawless. Thus, it should come as no surprise that even the problematic Delancy Rocherlieu of the Rocherlieu family fell in love with him at first sight.

She had heard about him from ladies she occasionally encountered at tea parties and in casual conversations, but she wasn't as quick to fall in love from just what she hears because she needed to see him to believe it.

And when she did see him, Delancy was head over heels for the prince. It was honestly quite pathetic how smitten she was sometimes as I read through the novel. One time, she outwardly admitted to the prince that she was unable to control the pounding of her heart in her chest or the rush of heat rising on her pale face whenever she saw him. It was a cringe moment for me.

Because who the fuck would say shit like that in real life to their crush? You're trying to win him off and not scare him!

Anwyay, Delancy silently admiring him from a distance, waiting for an opportunity to talk to him but he was always preoccupied by her older sister, Philomena.

He hung out with Philomena so much to the point that it made Delancy's envy for Philomena grow.

Despite the fact that it was known that Delancy was always jealous of her sister from the very beginning—since their parents would always put Philomena's needs and wants ahead of her own— and believes that Philomena always takes the things that she likes from her.

It is obvious that there was favoritism in the family—which is something Philomena is ignorant of— and Delancy's love for the crown prince is what drove her to do more despicable actions she did in the novel just to get her way. No surprise for a villainess but still, her actions are mad crazy.

Delancy knew that Prince Elliot was in love with Philomena. Though most people might not notice it, Delancy is no fool.

She made every effort to distract the prince's attention from Philomena throughout the book, and in the end, she was successful because Philomena got married to another nobleman, a duke.

After the news reach to His Highness, he ceased to visit their duchy. He didn't even attend the after-party after Philomena and her husband's vow exchange and all that. He maintained a straight face the entire time Philomena was married.

Then, he remained quiet and did his responsibilities as a prince for two years until he visited their duchy again. Anyway, Delancy's father and the Empire's king had some sort of contract which included the need to elope one's children. It was a common thing in the history to ensure one's promise and to strengthen each other's trust but apart from that, obviously Philomena can't be a candidate for the marriage/proposal. It had to be Delancy.
