Chapter 3

At the restaurant (Tessa's pov)
I'm the first one to get there well we me and and emery
I take her out of her car seat and start playing with her while doing that Kim and Vance and a young looking handsome guy show. Up I totally forgot he's Vance's son and was gonna join us
Let's see how this goes.

Vance:"so Tessa tell us about your self"

Tessa:"um this is my daughter emery she's my everything and will do anything to protect her from her own dad sucks to say but I have to"

Hardin:" why if you don't mind us knowing "

Tessa:"it's fine um when I told him I was pregnant he wanted me to have abortion because he thinks or thought she wasn't his"
My eyes start watering every time I say that why do they wanna everything about me ?

Kim:" how about we change the subject Hardin how's training going?."

Hardin:" you know hard but just practices for the season"

Tessa:"um gonna go change her diaper I'll be back" while I get up I hear my phone ringing I know it Jace I don't wanna talk to him but knowing his gonna get the courts involved and try to 100 % custody and I can't have her taken away from me. When I get to the restroom I change her diaper and feed I'm not fully comfortable of feeding her where everybody can see if I had her bottle would be better but I forgot them at my moms .
When done I go back to the table seems like my new bosses were talking about something important Hardin seems  like  he doesn't want to be here I know I don't I only said yes just to be nice as soon as I sit down I get call without even looking at the name I answer.
Phone call
Tessa :"hello"
Jace:" it's about Time you answer "
Tessa:"what do you want ?!"
Jace :"come outside I wanna talk to you and see the kid"
Tessa:" why are you doing this why now ?"
Jace:"come outside and I'll tell you"
After that he hangs up the phone we ask for the bill I tried to pay but Vance said no..

(Hardin pov)
I keep looking at Tessa she's very nice and beautiful her daughter is very beautiful as well I can tell Tessa's is stressed I can tell she's been trying to avoid her babies dad for some whatever reason I wanna ask if she wants to go outside and I'll watch the baby but then we just met she wouldn't leave her baby with a total stranger . I didn't really notice but my dad and Kim have left without saying anything Tessa is trying to put her baby asleep while standing side side.

Hardin :"I know we just met and don't know each other but your a really great mom"

Tessa : " um thank I try my best.do you need a ride home I can take you?"

Hardin :" um sure "
      We get up and leave I carry the car seat for Tess as she's closing the back door I see a familiar face I don't know if should stay in the car or get out luckily Tessa's car windows are tinted pretty dark
So if anyone wanted to see in the car they can't

Tessa:" do you mind if you stay in car while I talk to him "

Hardin:" you know Jace ?"

Tessa:"um yeah he's my ex and emerys dad "

Hardin:"of course I'll stay in car and I'll let you know if she cries or something "

(Tessa's pov)
After I close the door to the car  I wait for Jace to start talking.
Tessa:"why are you here why now "

Jace:"i honestly don't know I guess I needed someone to talk about it I um got the girl I cheated on you with pregnant."

Tessa:"okay I care why it's not like you your own daughter grow or even ask about her or call her even though she can't understand you it would be nice even if you tried it sucks that you when I was in the hospital I didn't have anyone by side except my mom "
My eyes start water my goal is not cry in front of him he knows me too well
"Listen I gotta go it's past her bed time and she'll wake again for a feeding um congrats on being a "dad" again "
I get In the car almost forgot Hardin was in the car the whole ride taking Hardin home was no talking just the radio station playing after I drop him off he tells me thank you
When I get home emery started crying after I feed her I put her in the crib and go ahead and go to sleep. Let see what the next day brings..
