Chapter 3:

*yawns* I just woke up and I'm sooo tired. Couldn't sleep at all last night!

As I open my eyes, I feel the sun shining on my face. Feels like today's gonna be an awesome day.

I get up, make my bed, and do my usual stretch.

When I glance at my alarm clock, I freak out—it's already noon!

This is a total disaster!! Prom starts at 4 and I gotta leave by 2:30!!!

I rush to the bathroom, slap on a face mask while brushing my teeth, and jump in the shower.

Can't believe I only have 2 hours to get ready for the night I've been waiting for my whole life!

While I'm in the shower, it hits me that my dad still hasn't picked up my prom dress.

I've reminded him a gazillion times, but he keeps procrastinating. Isn't my dad just the most organized person ever?

yes I was being sarcastic

I quickly finish my shower and dash out of the bathroom.

I scream at the top of my lungs so my dad can hear me (he's downstairs).

"DAD, YOU FORGOT TO PICK UP MY PROM DRESS!"

"OH SHOOT, I'M SO SORRY. I'LL LEAVE RIGHT AWAY. AND HOW ABOUT A 'GOOD MORNING' BEFORE YOU START YELLING AT ME?"

Maybe it would've been a good morning if my dad had actually gotten my prom dress on time!

"GOOD MORNING, DAD."

"AND GOOD MORNING TO YOU TOO."

Now I've got even more problems on my plate. (Only 1 hour and 30 minutes left till I gotta leave.)

I sprint to my room, and just my luck, I stub my toe on the way in. UGH, seriously, what's up with this day? It's like the universe is playing a prank on me or something.

I quickly throw on a robe and rush to dry my hair. Time is ticking, but I'm determined to slay this makeup game. I mean, who needs hours when you can work your magic in under 20 minutes? It's like a makeup miracle!

And guess what? My makeup actually turns out bomb! I'm talking next-level flawless, like I just stepped out of a glam tutorial. It's crazy how I managed to pull it off so effortlessly. Talk about a confidence boost!

Just as I'm finishing up, I hear my dad pulling into the driveway.

"alright Myla i'm back, Im just going to leave this outside your door."

"Alright thanks dad!"

He's got my dress, and I can't wait to see it. The anticipation is giving me a mini panic attack, but I'm also super excited. It's like a rollercoaster of emotions, you know?

I swing open my door, and there it is a box with my dream prom dress inside. I gasp in awe as I lay eyes on it. It's a stunning baby blue gown fit for a prom queen. Seriously, it's like Cinderella vibes all the way. And get this, it's a tribute to my mom's love for Cinderella. So special! [picture above]

With my hair perfectly straightened and pulled up into a high ponytail, I'm totally channeling that Cinderella look. I mean, who needs a fairy godmother when you can slay the princess vibes on your own?

Taking a deep breath, I approach the mirror and catch a glimpse of the final look. And let me tell you, I don't even recognize the gorgeous girl staring back at me. It's like I've transformed into this whole new level of fabulousness. Who knew I had it in me?

I don't really put a lot of effort into myself when I'm going to school or when I'm leaving the house to be honest, I don't really wear a lot of makeup at all.

I told my dad to wait for me at the bottom of the stairs to see my final look and I open my door and made my way to the stairs nervous but excited to see my father's reaction.

"uhhh dad... close you eyes" I said this standing at the top of the stairs knowing that this is a moment I will remember for the rest of my life.

"alright honey"

"okay dad, open your eyes."

My dad slowly removed his hands from in front of his face and his eyes lit up once his eyes fixed on me properly.

"Myla Louise Wilson, my dear daughter you are so gorgeous, you outshine the stars that shine brightest at night"

Hearing these words melted my heart even though it was a little cringe, I was still so cute and meant a lot to me.

"Thanks dad... I just wish that mum was here"

"Awww my baby, your mother would be just as proud as I am right now"

I see my dad's eye start to water (I've never seen him tear up before). I hug my dad and go back to my room.

Now I'm waiting on Axton.
(I still can't believe he's my prom date)
