Chapter Six

Luca steps around to face me, blocking my view of his victim. A single tear runs down my cheek. I squeeze my eyes tighter to prevent more. Who knows, crying may anger him. Or turn him on.

Luca's lips gently press onto my cheek, catching the tear in its path. The kiss is soft and brief.

"After you." Luca smirks and sweeps his hand dramatically toward the stairs.

The walk to the house is quiet except for Luca's faint humming. It's not a song I recognize but in any other circumstance it may have made me fall in love with him.

The house is empty, Giovanni and Romeo gone, but their plates stay at the table, the food long gone. Luca's and my plate stay hardly touched in their spots.

Luca calmly sits at the table and continues eating his meal. I stand frozen, my appetite gone. Luca smirks up at me. "Are you going to eat your food, piccola?"

"No, no sir," I stutter. He nods once. I pick up the empty plates and my plate from the table quickly, not wanting to be near Luca for much longer.

I wash the dishes and Luca eats in silence. When he finishes, he leaves and shuts the front door gently behind him.

After the kitchen is spotless once again, I begin to wander around the house, being careful not to open any doors. The house is huge, the biggest I've ever been in by far.

As I'm turning around a corner, I run into someone.

"Oh, sorry." I mumble before looking up to see who it is.

"You're okay." It's Romeo. He brushes his hair out of his eye, drawing my attention to the purple, swollen skin surrounding it. I gasp.

He chuckles. "Looks like Luca got to both of us."

"What do you mean?"

He quirks up one eyebrow. He lifts his hand and gently brushes his fingers across my neck and collarbone. Certain areas are sensitive. My jaw drops. Luca, I swear...

Before I am able to finish the threat in my head, Romeo interrupts. "You want a tour? Looks like you will be here for a while."

I sigh. "Thanks."

Romeo leads me around the large house, showing me the gym, movie room, and the hallway where his, Giovanni's, and Anya's rooms are.

"Anya?" I haven't met an Anya.

Romeo nods. "She's doing business elsewhere right now. She should be back in a few days."

She? Another girl in the house? Well that's a plus. He leads me back toward the front door.

"Where are we going now?"

He looks at me like I'm crazy. "Your room."

There's a small set of stairs next to the front door, leading down to a single door. He walks in front of me and opens it.

"Everything should be in here now. Bathroom is that door on the right, closet is through there. If you need anything else, I'm sure Luca will get it for you." He smiles softly, like he's laughing at a joke he made in his head.

I step farther into the room. It's decorated in soft pink and white with fresh flowers by the bed. It's beautiful. Wait.

"It looks exactly like my Pinterest board." I walk around the room, touching the quilt on the king size bed and the little knick-knacks on the shelves.

"That would be because of Anya. She hacked into your phone and did the decorations."

"My phone is here? Can I have it?"

"I believe she was able to access it remotely but I'm sure Luca doesn't want his pet to have free access to the outside world even if it was here."

"I am NOT his pet." I glare at him.

Romeo gives me a look and then gestures to my neck. I reach up and cover the sensitive skin.

"You can argue that with him, leave me out of it."
