Could she be running from a notorious mafia gang, desperately seeking my help to summon the police? Or perhaps she had been abducted, subjected to illegal experiments against her will? Goodness gracious, I realized this was the consequence of immersing myself in countless books. Nevertheless, the burning question lingered: what would unfold if I dared to unveil the secrets concealed within this enigmatic letter? I resolved to postpone the revelation until I found solitude.
Upon arriving home, my mother beckoned me to join her at the dining table, where a mundane meal awaited us. Sighing in disappointment, I observed the repetitive sight of noodles for the fifth consecutive day. I understood that everyone was preoccupied with the wedding preperations, but couldn't we simply order takeout or explore other culinary options?
After we finished our lackluster dinner and retreated to the room I shared with my parents and older brother, Chris, it became apparent that each family had been assigned a single room. As I gingerly unfolded the letter, a wave of astonishment washed over me. To my utter surprise, the message was specifically addressed to me, cautioning that I needed to undergo a transformation. Failure to do so would result in dire consequences for my future. My mind reeled in disbelief.
