Well it's been a few days now since i've seen Alek. The weekend went so quick. And of course i spent it doing nothing as usual. Which at times i dont mind, but it can get lonely very quickly. Then again thats all i've really known.
I let out a deep sigh whilst filling in More numbers on my spreadsheet, Making sure to keep track of sales over the previous week. I flinch and turn my head shortly aftering feeling an ice cold gust of air hit my neck. There was Alek, leaning over me, looking at my work.
"You wanna grab some lunch with me darling? its on me of course. I figured with that big sigh you let out, you could do with a break." He says with a little grinn on his face.
"Sure I think I can spare some time, where shall we go?" I say nervously.
"Theres a lovely cafe down the street which I think will do quite nicely" He picks up my coat, holding it ready for me to put on. This guy is so old fashioned... its kinda cute.
We begin walking to the cafe after what felt like forever in the elevator. He turns his head noticing im shivering a little, I mean it is snowing outside.
Alek wastes no time in taking off his coat and throwing it over my shoulders.
"Hey, no you'll get ill if you dont wear a coat" I say whilst attempting to give back his straight, long black coat.
Suddenly i feel a hand grab my shoulder
"No, Im fine. I insist. Now come on" Alek says in a deep raspy voice.
God his voice is so deeply attractive. Although, seriously, how is he not cold? He's going to get himself ill, I will not be taking responsibility if he gets ill. He shouldnt be so damn nice all the time.
Shortly after we arrive at the cafe, we begin to order, I decide on a simple sandwich, cheese and tomato, with a side salad, and he orders... coffee. Thats it. To be fair I dont think i've seen him eat at work pretty much ever.
"Arent you hungry?" I say.
"A little, but i'm saving my appetite for later" he says whilst taking a sip of his hot black coffee, not breaking eye contact.
Why did those words sound almost alluring? sensual even?
"OUCH! Damn paper cuts!" The menu I picked up had suprisingly not so smooth edges.
Alek wasted no time darting his eyes to my finger, watching the deep, wine red blood drip down my palm. His eyes shot wide, asif he was... admiring it?
"How on earth did you manage that" he says making his way next to me, kneeling down, lifting my finger up and inspecting the wound closely. He grabs a tissue, cleaning it delicately, wrapping a plaster around my finger tip.
"Better?" He asks whilst placing his hand on my chin, lifting my face up until we lock eyes.
I simply nod in confusion. Why did he look so fascinated when I hurt myself? What made him move so quickly towards me and lick his lips at the sight of my blood? Was he some sort of sadist?
"I suppose you could say that" he says whilst re-seating himself drinking more of his coffee.
"wha-"
"You should eat up, we have to get moving soon" - he interupts me before I can even question what he said. I mean surely I didnt say that out loud? So what was he saying, I mean its not asif he can just read minds. I suppose coincidences happen though, or maybe i just whispered it without realising?
The rest of the meal was pretty quiet apart from the general small talk. We got to know eachother a bit more. He was a fan of classical music, interesting choice I say personally. When he asked about my taste in music, all that I could think of to describe it was songs that make you feel high. He did laugh at that, which is deserved honestly for such a dumb statement. Turns out Alek doesnt live far from me too, except he lives in a way nicer building. How he affords it, I will never know, I mean our jobs dont pay anymore than minimum wage.
As we are leaving the cafe he doesnt even give me a chance to offer to pay, turns out he already gave his card to the waiter before we even sat down.
On the way back to the office all I can feel is dread and boredom awaiting ahead of me, I really didn't like this job. It was so boring, but then again, so was my life.
I let out a deep sigh
"Dont worry, only a few more hours" Alek says pulling me in close with one arm towards his side.
I needed that.
