song: memories by conan grey

SIRIUS BLACK HAD BEEN SIGHTED a few hundred miles from Hogwarts, but that was old news by the time Halloween rolled over.

Of course, everyone kept staring, whispering, and making weird faces at Charlotte, but she tried her best to put on a confident act, not letting anything get to her.

That, however, changed on the night of the 31st of October, better known as Halloween.

Charlotte had no plans to celebrate the holiday. Most of the time Remus had pretended it did not exist, and his goddaughter assumed that it had something to do with his past, but she never asked.

Skipping the infamous Halloween feast, Charlotte found herself struggling with her Wiggenweld potion for the better part of the evening.

Professor Snape had been at the feast, making Charlotte's monthly trip to his personal ingredient stash that much easier.

She had taken everything and more than she needed to annoy Snape and started brewing.

It had been a long process, and at one point Charlotte wanted to drop it and go get a bite to eat but decided against it.

At quarter past eleven, Fred and George emerged through the doors of the Potions classroom, their eyes landing on Charlotte.

"We were worried sick!" Fred rushed towards her, his voice full of concern and relief.

"We thought he'd taken you!" George continued, trying to catch his own breath.

Charlotte stood from her stool, confused as ever. "What's happened? Is everything alright?" she assumed not, as the next person to enter was Remus, followed by Professor Snape.

"Where have you been?" Remus sighed in relief once his eyes landed on his goddaughter's face. He rushed towards her, wrapping his arms around her shoulders, exhaling and calming himself down.

Professor Snape darted around, suspicious as to why Charlotte was in his classroom of all places. That's when he discovered the potion in making behind Charlotte and narrowed his eyes at her, but didn't say anything.

"Moony you're scaring me, what has happened?" the Ravenclaw pushed away from Remus, looking up to meet his eyes, looking for an answer, which she found.

"That's not possible." the young witch gasped, her eyes never leaving Remus's. The twins stood just behind her godfather, watching the pair in front having a conversation without words.
