Waking up for work was easy when you loved your job. Lucky for her students, Beyoncé absolutely loved her job. She loved being a professor. Her favorite thing was having and sharing knowledge of a topic that she was most interested in, which was psychology. She loved that her students were (mostly) mature adults who were passionate about their major and the things that she was teaching them. Of course, she always had the occasional student who wanted to slack off and hope they passed as if it were a high school course, but she always saw them in her class again the following semester because B was not the professor that was going to pass people who didn't deserve to pass. She took a swing at being a middle and high school teacher before and absolutely hated it. Mostly for the simple fact that she wasn't a big fan of children. Being a college professor was her career now and it had been for a few years. She started as an assistant and grew into being the professor.
She did a big, dramatic stretch and sat up. She sat there for a moment waiting for her blurry vision to clear up before slipped her feet into her slippers and went to go get herself ready for the day. Although her first class wasn't until nine, she still woke up at 6:30 to have time to do everything she needed to do beforehand. She had to do her five step skin care routine before putting on makeup. She also liked to eat breakfast every morning and if she didn't, it was going to be a bad day. Sticking to her routine and rituals was an essential part of her life process. She had been an early riser ever since she entered her mature adult years. She was really on an old lady schedule now, although she was only thirty three. She was fairly young to be a college level professor, but she was an extremely intelligent woman who worked very hard to get to where she was.
B ate her simple breakfast of avocado toast, bacon, and orange juice, then, proceeded to get dressed. It was a warm, but humid, day down in Florida, so she dressed accordingly and put her hair up in such a way that the humidity wouldn't phase it too much. Most days, she would wear a skirt and a cute blouse. It has become like her signature look. She just knew how sexy she was and would showcase it at any time in the appropriate manner. She checked the time on her phone and decided to go ahead and make her way to the campus to prepare herself for her first class.
Jay wiped the sweat from his forehead as he prepared to do yet another set of curls. He took his phone from his pocket and began to skip through the songs in his playlist before he could continue. If he didn't have a good song to pump him up, he was going to be distracted. Once he decided on a song, he picked up the weight and began his next set of curls.
He had been doing a great job staying consistent and going to the gym most mornings with the occasional rest day. It honestly was making him feel a lot better about himself instead of waking up just in time to make it to a class. He never believed people when they said that waking up early or going to the gym made you feel better, but it was proving to be true for him. He checked the time on his watch and it read 6:30, so he still had time to finish his routine before heading back home to get ready for his class at nine. He still had three more exercises to do before he was done, so he got back into his zone to focus.
When he was finished, he headed back home. He took a shower as soon as he walked in and then proceeded to make his post-workout shake as his breakfast. Jay was excited to get the semester started. He loved to learn new things and he was extremely passionate about his future. He brushed his hair before tying a durag around it, making sure to tie the cape up in the back. He decided to just sit back on the couch reading a book on his iPad until about 8:15 when he prepared to leave his house being sure to make it to class on time. He used a lint roller on his all black outfit before slipping his shoes on and going to class. He had a twenty minute commute that always flew by with his music blasting through the speakers.
Beyoncé came into the room full of students and said a polite greeting to everyone. She smiled when she heard a collective 'good morning' from the room. "Did everyone sign the 'sign in' sheet and pick up a copy of the syllabus?" She asked and a few people had to get up and sign it. Jay stood to his feet and waited in the short line to sign his name in. B watched from afar as she waited for them to pick up the papers and return to their seats before she began to get started.
