Beyoncé plopped down onto her sister, Solange's, couch dramatically with a loud groan. "Girl, I am so tired." She complained. She'd had a grueling long day, but still decided to come over to bother her sister. She spent a lot of time with her sister because they were best friends. It was a dream for others to be best friends with their siblings and Beyoncé and Solange couldn't be closer. Beyoncé didn't make friends very well, so she was very lucky to have a forever friend in her sister.

"You hungry?" Solange said and B perked right up. If she ever wanted a free meal, she knew that she could always come to her sister's or her mother's house and neither of them ever minded. Solange loved her sister and loved to cook, so making something for B was never an issue especially when she was already going to be cooking dinner for herself. "I'm making a chicken caesar salad."

"Oh, yes, absolutely." She smiled. "And some ginger ale!" She yelled after she'd already began to walk away. B took her shoes off and readjusted herself so that she was sitting on one of her feet. It was her favorite relaxing position and it kept her feet warm. She stared at the TV and scrolled through Hulu as she waited for Solange to be back with their food. She soon dropped the remote beside her after deciding to watch Catfish reruns. Watching tv was another thing that she often hated because she never knew what to watch.

It took less than fifteen minutes for Solange to be handing a bowl of salad to her sister and having a seat on the couch next to her. "So," Solange started. "How are you, sis?"

"Tired, girl." She repeated and began to eat. Solange always made good food and although it was just a simple chicken salad, it was really hitting the spot for her. "How are you, baby sister?" B asked after she finally swallowed her bite.

Solange shrugged. "I'm fine. I'm just vibing out, to be honest." B nodded in agreement. It did sometimes feel like she was just living and not living. She needed a spark in her life... some excitement. Excitement that she'd be finding very soon. It was sometimes hard to be pulled from the funk of feeling very stagnant and bored, but whenever Solange felt that way, B was there for her and vice versa. They fed off of each other, but not in a codependent way, they were just very empathetic. "I don't know, I'd rather just be in your business." Solange said to deflect the conversation to something more interesting to her.

B laughed out loud. "I'm sorry, but I don't have any business for you to even get into." She shrugged. She was being honest, she hadn't been doing anything different. She was just a boring, old college professor who went to work and then went home.

"So, then... what's up with your love life?" Solange asked getting ready to pry. "Do you have a boyfriend yet? You're still talking to that one guy, right?" Beyoncé groaned and rolled her eyes. Her sister and mother were always so invested into her life at times, especially her love life. She definitely found it annoying, even more so because they always asked the same questions. Her love life was nonexistent at this moment and that was fine with her, she preferred it that way. She was a lone wolf by choice. She liked her own company, it was rare for her to find someone that she wanted in her space more than once a week– sometimes once every two weeks.

"You and your mother already know the answer to this. Y'all ask me every other day and my answer is always the same... I don't care to be tied down to anyone. Why can't I just be?" B shrugged. She never went into any details of the way she decided to live her life. "I like to flirt and fuck. That's pretty much it when it comes to love."

Solange chuckled. "You don't think you're getting too old for that mindset, girl?" B only shrugged. "Seriously? You're almost forty."

"I'm only thirty three, Solange." She laughed and got offended that she tried to insinuate that she was much older. "And I don't plan on having kids, so..." B thought about it for a second. "I'll settle down when I'm forty, maybe. I'm living my life right now. Who ever decided that there was a right and wrong way to live romantically? I'm happy. I was not put on this Earth to repopulate the world, that's someone else's job. I was put here to be... just B."
