Rose looked at her savings book, tears welling up in her eyes. She could finally go on her dream trip and take her dog Dixie with her. Dixie was a beautiful brindle and white pit and lab mix. She had bluish green eyes with brown eyeliner around one eye and white eyelashes on the other one. She had brown speckles on her ears and by her nose. She was drop-dead gorgeous. She stole Rose's heart the moment she saw her that day, and she knew she had to have her. She knew she was going to be her best friend forever. Everything that they could do together, they did.

(The dog in the story is based on my girl, her name is Dixie. Don't mind my shoes and socks in the picture, lol.)

"We finally get to take our trip, my love," she said while looking down at the dog with a huge smile on her face.
Dixie licked her in the face and lay in her lap.

Rose started packing for the whole summer since she didn't have to work. She packed two bathing suits. A black and red one with high waisted bottoms ripped at the side. Then, a jade green off the shoulder with high waisted bottoms. She packed tons of shirts, jeans, shorts, pants, socks, and four different pairs of shoes. She then grabbed her makeup and all her toiletries. She packed a blanket for Dixie to lay on, her toys, a leash, a water bowl for the trip, and food for the trip. She would buy her a bag of dog food when they got there. She took one last look at her two bedroom house and locked the door behind her.

She loaded everything in the back seat of her 2017 light brown Chevrolet, and Dixie loaded up in the front seat with her favorite toy. She listened in, awe, as she heard her truck roar to life. She would never get tired of that sound. She buckled and put the truck in reverse. She backed out of her driveway and hit the road. She had an almost 10 hour drive from Louisiana to Cheatham County. That's right, she was going to be around where Ryan was from and still lived. She wasn't going in hopes to see him she was going because it was her dream place.

                       - 8 hours later -
She had stopped a few times to get energy drinks, snacks, and to let Dixie use the bathroom. She had an hour and a half to go until she got to her destination. That hour and a half felt like forever to her. She knew Dixie was ready to get out of the truck, and so was she.

                       - 1 1/2 later -
She had just crossed the Cheatham county line. She was almost to her best friend's house, Elaine's. She called Elaine to let her know. It was currently 11 at night, so she knew she was still up.
*phone ringing*
Elaine: Hello?
Rose: I'm five minutes out.
Elaine squealed like a little girl.
Elaine: Okay, I'll be waiting on the porch.
Rose hung up, and WW2.0 came on by Upchurch.
She jammed with her radio halfway up, trying not to disturb the sleeping dog next to her. She turned the radio down as she pulled into Elaine's driveway. She parked next to Elaine's car. She woke Dixie, and she got excited.

Rose's pov:
I hung up with Elaine, and WW2.0 came on by Upchurch. I was jamming trying not to wake Dixie. My sweet girl deserved all the rest she could get. After all, she was my rock. We did everything together. She was the one who kept me going when all I wanted to do was give up. I pulled into the driveway and parked next to Elaine's cars. Elaine had long, straight brown hair that went to the middle of her back. She had beautiful hazel eyes that sparkled in the sunlight. She was tall and skinny, breathtakingly gorgeous. She could be a model if she wanted to. I woke Dixie up, and she was excited. I got down and let Dixie out as Elaine walked up to us with the biggest smile on her face. Dixie ran around the yard, happy to stretch her legs.
"Oh my gosh, I missed you so much, Rose," Elaine said while hugging her.
"I missed you too, Elaine." I said, hugging her back.
Dixie ran up and jumped on Elaine. She knew better, but she was just excited, so I let it slide. She missed Elaine just as much as I did.
"Let's get your bags in and get you settled in," Elaine chirped.
"Alright," I replied.

We grabbed my bags, and she took me to the guest room. It was painted a maroon color. It had a rustic theme to it, and there were horse and sunflower decorations everywhere.
She knew how much I loved horses and sunflowers.
"Oh my gosh, Elaine, I love it. You know me so well," I said while staring at the room in awe.
"I know," she laughed.
"I'm off to bed now. I will see you tomorrow. Goodnight, " she said, hugging me again.
"Goodnight." I hugged her back.
I was too tired to shower, so I changed into pjs, and Dixie and I layed down and passed out.

Elaine's pov:
Rose had called me and said she was five minutes away. I waited on the porch, excited to see my best friend again and Dixie. She pulled in and parked next to my car. She got out, and Dixie followed her. Rose was short and curvy with very long wavy strawberry blonde hair. She had piercing light blue eyes that changed colors. She wasn't skinny, but she also wasn't big either. I have always admired her beauty. I walked up to her.
"Oh my gosh, I missed you so much, Rose," I said while hugging her.
She hugged me back while telling me she missed me, too.
Dixie was running around the yard, then came and jumped on me. Rose usually didn't let her do that because of her size. Dixie knew her manners, but I knew she missed me, so it was okay. I loved on her for a minute.
"Let's get your bags inside and get you settled in." I said.
She agreed. I knew she was going to love her room. It has sunflower and horse decorations. She absolutely loved both things.
"Oh my gosh, Elaine, I love it. You know me so well," Rose said while staring at the room in awe.
"I know," I said while laughing.
"I'm off to bed now. I will see you tomorrow. Goodnight, " I said to her while hugging her again.
"Goodnight," she said while hugging me back.
I took a quick shower and put on my pjs. As soon as my head hit my pillow, I was out.
