context: Mattheo has never been very lovey dovey, definitely not with girls. he's always felt it was a waste of time. That changed when the new kid y/n came to hogwarts and they've been together over a year now. He may have a cold and stiff personality but Mattheo has a special soft spot for y/n and y/n only.

Y/N POV:
It's 2:30 in the morning and i've been up studying for my dada text in the morning for hours. I figured i should get some rest and hope for the best as my mother used to tell me. I lay in bed and get situated when listening to the storm outside helping me fall asleep. I've loved the rain since i was a little girl, it's peaceful. Suddenly the lights flicker and then completely go out. oh no. I may love storms but i can't do the dark. I debate on texting Mattheo but I know he wouldn't appreciate being woken up at this hour. Laying under my covers i try not to cry but i can't help it. The tears begin to fall and after about 5 minutes i'm sobbing, afraid of being alone in the dark. I finally get the courage to text Mattheo.

MATTHEO POV:
I was laying in bed watching Shameless when I see my phone off in the corner of my eye. I lean over to grab my phone confused at the text I received from y/n.

y/n: mattheo??
y/n: please come
mattheo: are you okay?!?! what's wrong?? what's the matter??
y/n: i'm scared...
mattheo: of what baby?
y/n: I have no power it's dark

5 minutes later

y/n: hello????
mattheo: i'm outside open the door

Y/N POV:
I smile reading the last text he sent as i walk towards the door. I open the door and fall into his arms. I close my eyes and take in his scent already feeling so much more safe. As he rubs the back of my head with his thumb I instantly calm. He leads me over to my bed and we get under the covers together. I tug at his shirt hinting to take it off. He takes his shirt off and i rest my head on his chest, my arms wrapped around his torso. Within minutes we both drift off.
I don't know what I would do without my Mattheo, he never fails to comfort me and make me feel safe.
I love him for that. ❤️
