Meerab and Murtasim had an arranged marriage. They were two strangers who were brought together by their families. Initially, things were not great between them but as time passed, they grew to love and care for each other. They were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Meesam, who was six years old now.
However, as time passed, Murtasim's behavior began to change. He started staying out late at night, and sometimes, he wouldn't even come home. He started ignoring Meerab and became distant towards her. She tried talking to him, but he was always busy with work or spending time with meesam.
One day, Meerab went for her routine check up and received some devastating news. She had been diagnosed with cancer. She wanted to tell Murtasim, but he was never around to listen. Months went by, and Murtasim showed no concern for Meerab's health. He was too caught up in his own life and work.
One day, after almost a year of neglect, Murtasim finally came to Meerab and told her that he wanted a divorce. Meerab was shaken by his words and asked him why. Murtasim confessed that he was interested in a female co-worker and wanted to be with her instead.
Meerab agreed to the divorce, but she had one condition. She asked Murtasim to take her for 10 days to their bedroom in bridal style, in front of their 6-year-old daughter, Meesam. Murtasim thought it was an easy way to get a divorce and agreed.
On the first day, as Murtasim lifted Meerab, he noticed that she had become lighter. He brushed it off, thinking that she must be sick. But on the second day, as he lifted her, he caught a whiff of her fragrance, which reminded him of the old days. On the third day, as he lifted her, he looked into her eyes and saw the innocence and pain she had been hiding.
On the last day, as he lifted her, Meerab just hugged him. Murtasim couldn't help but hug her back, realizing the mistake he had made. He started apologizing to her as they walked towards their bedroom.
When they reached the bedroom, Murtasim noticed that Meerab was not moving. He laid her down on the bed and saw a letter in her hand. As he read the letter, he was shocked to his core. Meerab had written that she had been battling cancer for a year and had hoped that he would find the letter after she was gone.
She also wrote that he should be happy as he was now free from her and could be with the woman he truly loved. Murtasim couldn't believe what he had just read. He realized the pain and suffering that Meerab had gone through, and he regretted his actions.
He fell to his knees, crying and begging for Meerab's forgiveness. But it was too late. She was gone, leaving behind a broken husband and a young daughter who would grow up without her mother.
Murtasim realized the true meaning of love and regretted not cherishing the time he had with Meerab.
From that day on, Murtasim became a changed man. He took care of Meesam and made sure she never felt the absence of her mother. He also made sure to spend quality time with her, something he had neglected before. He often visited Meerab's grave and apologized for not being there when she needed him the most.
The divorce never happened, as Murtasim couldn't imagine living without Meerab. He realized his love for her was true and everlasting. And though she was no longer with him, her love would always remain in his heart.
